How do you know what DIDN'T make it?
Comments (7)All of those plants, except the camellia, are supposed to drop their leaves in winter. Passion vines normally die to the ground in our winters. With the camellia, the drooping does not sound good, but you won't know for sure until it warms up in spring. The fingernail test looking for green inner bark is not 100% reliable. A woody plant can look fine above ground and yet still be dead, if the circulation system between roots and stems has been damaged; the stems can keep going in cool weather until they need more water than the damaged circulation system can supply. But, your camellia may be just fine, and just drop damaged leaves and resprout a whole new set in spring. So you won't really know what's dead until April or May or even June, depending on how long it takes to warm up....See MoreIn case you didn't know
Comments (3)I had to laugh at this post...I NEVER THROW SPLIT TOMATOES OUT. I always bring them in and cut them up...and they are usually the most tastiest for some weird reason! And...now...I will leave you all to go find some sort of cherry tomatoe (because that is all that is ripe right now outside of Philadelphia!...at least for me), a roll, and some salad dressing... :o) Pam...See MoreDid you provide gift cards to those who didn't win the bid?
Comments (3)I've never worked with designers but we always let contractors know, either by phone or email (depends on how they've communicated with me) that they didn't get the job. If they ask why they lost the bid, I tell them. I think what you're considering depends on how much time they spent on your project and whether they actually drew up plans. Usually there is a fee charged if they have to do anything beyond basic estimates....See MoreHow soon do you know if a cutting didn't take and what are symptoms
Comments (4)Interesting question. For me a failure is from rot and occurs soon after potting. The leaves fall off. I've been doing a few cutting lately for the first time in a long time. New stem/leaf growth is occurs on half the plants after 3-4 weeks. During this time there is a change in the plant. The leaves are less floppy and they are more shinny. Probably because he new root growth has hydrated the plant....See MoreFunkyart
