countertop with cream cabinets kitchen and backsplash advice please!
Comments (31)If you like blue, you might try using a blue gray finish on your island cabinets only? It seems like so many try to attain a finished kitchen that reminds one of the old sienna color photographs. No one really wants to live in shades of brown and gray all over the world. That can be monotonous. I really like the backsplash slocoja shared in her photo. I bit of shiney is really pretty with the silver chrome appliances, but maybe limit it to one or 2 lines thru the center of your backsplash, and than use the choice for your countertops in the backsplash. I think you might enjoy that more long term. Especially since you have so many different heights of window frames, cabinet trim, lines of molded cabinet doors and vertical lines in your windows... Do a couple of lines of your silver, or even a dusty blue or blue gray even if you can find it(goes with any other color you can think of for the next 3 decades, like blue jeans do? LOL) if you like that amongst the backsplash which matches your counter top, and let your island be the color you have planned in your picture if so... That way your eyes won't tire of all the movement in the kitchen, so many angles on your backsplash, the reflection etc.. I would do it at the height that splits your outlets in half, one to 3 lines of horizontal mini tiles. Very pretty!!...See MoreQuartz kitchen backsplash advice
Comments (5)that's a poor caulking job. have them come back and redo it w/caulking in the same color as the quartz, not a bright white. You could also have them run a piece of molding across the top portion to hide that. but on the curved spots, have them clean out all the residue caulking and pick a grayish white that isn't so noticeable. this isn't a difficult job. they just rushed it. did you pay in full already? But once your hood is in, will you even see it?...See Morebacksplash advice needed-mix marble HELP.
Comments (7)Thank you everyone. I’m definitely not ordering anything till counter is installed. I’m also definitely not the simple type to do an all white subway tile. I’m living having some brass in the backsplash. And some type of marbling. Not sure the stone. Will have a navy island and want to pick some of that. I will also have a huge chimney going through my island and want the eyes drawn away from that. Here are some of the style I like....See MoreNeed backsplash advice! 4" or tile with soapstone?
Comments (23)We had a beadboard backsplash in our last kitchen. I found the cleaning of the little ridges and the grooves (!!), especially behind the sink, to be tedious beyond belief. A 6" soapstone backsplash would be my vote, followed by tile to the counter. If you search English kitchens, many still use the small backsplash formed from the counter material and may provide you with more visuals for your decision. Good luck!...See Morelucky998877
