Happy Thanksgiving....
Comments (15)Yes- hope you all enjoyed! When I was working, I dealt a lot with our Canadian office so I was very aware of holidays. Now that I'm retired, I honestly didn't remember ( I didn't even realize today was a holiday of sorts here). I actually had emailed someone I worked with (she 's Canadian) with whom I keep in touch just to catch up. She wrote back and only THEN did I realize what yesterday was. Oops. Well as I said, hope veryone enjoyed...See MoreHappy Thanksgiving! What’s everyone up to today.?
Comments (60)Such cute kiddos! I gained a couple pounds reading what everyone had for the holiday. DD2 and her family came for Thanksgiving.. Weather was nice, so we walked to the beach each morning to build sandcastles and hunt for seashells, then back home to swim. We had traditional Thanksgiving food, then on Friday did a pre-3rd bday party for DGD2/JC - pizza, presents and she helped make cupcakes. I'm glad they were able to come (JC had been sick earlier this week) because my heart is broken. We lost our sweet Ellie on Tuesday. Or "Ellie no eyes" as JC called her. While I knew she hadn't been feeling herself the last two months, we had no idea the end was near. (Edited day, week has been a blur.)...See MoreHappy Thanksgiving
Comments (7)Nancy, we always used the ham bone too, whether it was in soup, in green beans or with cabbage. I've never made ham stock, but my brother is always bemoaning the fact that you can't buy ham stock or ham bouillion cubes here, he loves ham gravy, so it would make him very happy if I did. Grandma would never get rid of that ham bone, it was "perfectly good flavor". You're right about the ration of meat to bone, though, that's 1/3 bone in your ham. I am having both turkey and ham, mine is a ham roast from the pig I bought last spring. It'll have a big bone too, but hopefully not 5 pounds! Annie...See MoreHappy Thanksgiving!
Comments (3)All the best to my American "cousins". (I am jealous of your extra day day of celebration with family and friends as we Canadians only get one day)....See Moregardengal48 (PNW Z8/9)
