What goes well with brown pants/slacks?
Comments (48)Hey Bumble, just wanted to tell you that you were right about the pricing on the sweaters above. Quality wise I would say the regular price should have been between $60 and $85 (about what I paid). The sale price should have been less. No way are the sweaters in a quality range of $164 regular retail as stated. Saying that though they fit short wasted me perfectly and have a casual sliming elegance about them. They also flow nicely and are made well. The fabric is very light though, really too light to call it a sweater. If I did not live in Florida I would be disappointed but would say they are perfect for mildly cool evening here. In short, I do not feel I got ripped off but I did not score the deal of the century. I would give the sweaters 4 1/2 stars out of five because they fit my needs. The gray FDJ jeans were a big hit and are the most comfortable best fitting jeans I have every owned in my life. The "find your fit" check list on the FDJ sites was perfect for picking the right jeans for body shape. My husband was oozing with complements over the gray jean gray sweater getup. I'm seriously thinking of springing for the FDJ dark wash jeans at the high regular price...even though I have never been much of a jean person I love the comfort and fit of these. At 52 I think the splurge is worth feeling sexy in jeans....See MoreDress Pant Yoga Pants?
Comments (33)I can't find them online, but I recently bought several pairs of what Macy's advertised as 'leggings' but which are pretty close to what's being described/discussed here. They were in the regular sportswear-not activewear-department with all the other pants, ie not with the exercise clothes. Anyway, they are made of knit fabric, band waist and cut to fit snugly but extremely comfortably. They've got pockets on the back and came in both ankle length and a longer boot cut style. I bought several pairs and love them for work. I always wear a top untucked over slim fit pants anyway since I work in a generally business casual office (university advisor/admin), so they are perfect. The only problem I have is that I accidentally hemmed one pair inside out. So now they have cuffs which really isn't working for the look I'm going for LOL. Once I fix that, good to go....See Moreanyone still wearing capri length pants?
Comments (100)Mtn., I've been wearing palazzos for several years now and I love them! I don't wear them in public though, only to friends or family dinners where I can look good and feel comfortable at the same time. Especially at Thanksgiving because the waist has elastic, and at Christmas because it's easy to maneuver around playing toys on the floor. lol. I always get a pretty print and wear a solid color top. This morning was grocery day after not going to the store for two weeks. Almost $600 worth. I wore my stretch capris (my calves are fine, thank you) and boy did they do the job. My cart was full on the lower shelf, a 28 lb. box of kitty litter, huge bag of dry dog food, two cases of wet dog food, etc. I swear by those pants!...See MoreNeed help: floor heating, towel warmers - cold bathroom
Comments (10)"will underfloor heating help warm the room at all, or just stop the floor being chilly?" A true underfloor radiant heating system will heat the room. Basic under-tile heat mats or cables can do what the others' wrote; simply warm the floor, or some are capable of warming a room. "2. what wattage of towel heater is needed to make a difference to air temp? Over 150? Over 400?" Look at the BTU output. Most "towel warmers" struggle to simply warm towels. If you want a "towel warmer" that will heat a room, look at Runtal. There are other brands as well. Some of their warmers are hydronic, some are electric. For room heat, a very generic rule-of-thumb...which is exactly, that...a generic rule-of-thumb... recommendation would be to get something that can output about 25-30BTU per sqft of room. You have a 10' x 10' room, 100sqft, you'd look at a unit that can output 2500-3000BTU. There's always Manual J for a more accurate number. "3. whats the most energy efficient and non-ugly ;) way to heat a bathroom?" First, stop the loss. Air seal the room to prevent air infiltration through the house's thermal envelope, and properly install whatever insulation that you use. Then address heat requirements. In a light-use climate like yours, anything "radiant floor" you'd want low-mass for quick response times. Simple under-tile cables or mat systems, or if you did go with a true underfloor hydronic, a low-mass staple-up system would probably serve you best. If you pursue the towel warmer route, Runtal and Runtal-like towel warmers come in a variety of sizes (BTU outputs) and styles. They blend well with most decor. Most cost-effective would likely be a Runtal-type warmer with a few judiciously placed bathroom floor rugs set on the tile....See Morededtired
