Which master bath style?

So these are extremely rough sketches, but getting an idea for the space we’re maybe planning for. His/hers closets or one long narrow closet? Dimensions are approximate at this point.
I love hooks to hang hoodies, scarves, and purses etc, so the long one has that wall space. But having separate closets also has its appeal.

Clothes can't turn corners.

And as to whether or not to have one or two closets, that depends on you and your spouse. I did that in our condo and never again. His idea of keeping a closet neat is to hang everything wherever, and if things drop on the floor? Oh well. Drove me nuts so now we have our own closets. YMMV.

Can you explain the clothes can’t turn corners? I’m confused lol. This is all just a visual, I have more detailed drawings of how each closet would be setup (rods and shelves etc)

I saw your house pics yesterday on the house building forum! I had actually saved your bathroom pic (the other view you have of the larger view...you should post it over here!!) to use for inspiration for our upcoming home build. I LOVE your bathroom. You do have similar colors to our bathroom now, which I love enough to repeat in our future bathroom. Our paint color is a bit lighter (Benjamin Moore Quiet Moments cut to 75%) but the feel is the same. We have white fluffy bath mats and I wouldn't have it any other way. Having seen your bathroom from the angle where you can see the front view of your tub with that great window and the other vanity on the other side...I wouldn't want anything to distract from it.

The picture marked version 2 I like the open hallway and stairs and bedroom placements with closets buffering the bathroom noise best. You are also able to get large furniture into the master bedroom. In the other unmarked version I'm not sure how you are going to get any large furniture in trying to turn that corner. In both though I think the master bath/closet could use some re-work. I don't like the access in the one marked version2 for the closet as you have to walk around from the bathroom through the master to get to the closet. However I'm not liking the other option either with two openings as it is wasting closet space. I'm thinking there has to be some other options available for the space too.

Here's what I would do... :-) (1) Slide the master suite door to the hall/vestibule, keeping an opening in the space where the door was. The new door can either swing in and rest against the chest, or swing out and rest against the hallway wall. (2) Put in an opening across from the vestibule chest (with mirror, lol). (3) Close off the bedroom opening across from the coffee bar. (4) Add a (frosted) door to the closet/bath/laundry "vestibule" that rests against the new wall. This will muffle all of the laundry/bath noise, while providing privacy for freshly-showered streakers on their way to their closet. You can also keep this door open 90% of the time, without affecting flow, if you want. (5) Remove doors, creating simple openings instead, for the closet(s) and laundry. (6) Slide door/opening of closet-in-laundry over, because once clothing is hung, the door hits it. Hope that helps, and apologies if anyone already suggested these things; I had to draw it out to visualize what was going on, lol. :-D

You have in both drawings the hangers 90 degrees from one another. How will you hang clothes in the closet corners?

You can certainly hang clothes in a corner if you are using something like the ELFA system. You do block seeing the clothes on one leg of the corner, but works well as a space to hang off season things or rarely used clothing. I would place rarely used long formal dresses in that spot.

Just took a photo in my guest closet. One rod goes into the corner and the other doesn't. I placed hangers to show where clothes would go.

I also much prefer having my own closet. DH isn't the neatest and has a unique way of utilizing shelves! He places them really far apart, height wise, and then barely puts anything on them!

Is this a remodel or new construction?

This is new construction. Forget the way the hangers are facing, I just drew them for visual purposes (to say “this is a closet” lol) I’m mostly wondering about the actual closet placement. Long narrow, or his/hers? Pros cons of each.

Personal preference/needs, but I’d be inclined to shift the door placement and layout of the bathroom to allow for a deeper walk-in and a single reach in closet. I need way more linear feet of closet storage - my husband is more than happy with a decent reach in (a small walk-in would be a waste). Separate is a must for us.

Yes us too. My DH has a 6' reach in closet and I have the walk in closet. I also prefer not having 2 openings that could shed light late at night or early in the morning into the bedroom so version 2 would work better for me.

How much space are you allowing in the second scheme between the vanities and tub and shower? It would appear to be 4'-0". That seem rather tight. Would suggest you increase it another foot if possible.
