Grout color help for brick, please ~ photos
Comments (9)I have thin brick tile in my half bath and while I love the look I am very glad that I did not put it in some of the other areas that I had considered, it is very hard to keep clean. I sealed the brick tiles many times before they were installed, used TEC stain resistant grout and then resealed so it is not a sealing issue, it is that the texture grabs everything and then it is hard to clean as any dirt on the vacuum rubs off on the brick. I have considered using a poly coat to try to make the surface a little smoother but it will not adhere now and I am not sure how much of a difference it would make anyway. Not trying to be negative as I really like brick tile, just letting you know my experience....See MorePlease help with LR....lots of photos
Comments (26)hey! i have that table--though not from pb. ime it holds up very well, but those extensions are a pain to move and remove. also the grooves catch everything and need constant cleaning with a toothpick or the vacuum. that said, it is beautiful and that width is great for our large family. your room is going to be gorgeous when you're done, love the fabric and breakfront....See MoreColor Savants, please help
Comments (27)And the winner is ...... Benjamin Moore Hampshire Grey. My DH and decorator and GC all like this one best. I like the shade, I just worry that it may be too dark. DH makes a good point ... he said " we have watched and seen that professionals make their share of mistakes. SO we will try it. If it's a mistake, we will fix it." By the way, I am very grateful and impressed that the designer replied to my email: Here is the reply: "After looking in our records, I have found that the color used was a Farrow & Ball paint, number 1, Lime White, but due to the lighting and photography, the color is much more similar to Farrow & Ball's number 18, French Gray. " Honestly, as someone who has her entire family room in Lime White, and several bedrooms with Lime White trim, I do not think it could have been lime white. But there is our old friend, French Gray! Anyway, thanks all. Here is a link that might be useful: this is it, but its much darker in person, and greener too...See MoreHere are the photos: Please help me pick exterior colors
Comments (28)Thanks so much for all your comments -- and for not going "yech" when you saw my tone-on-tone shutters. I can always paint them again later, but sure don't feel like doing it now. Enailes, the pathway, which will widen to 10 by 10 at one spot to accommodate facing benches -- will be a stamped concrete in a coquina (light creamy tan color) banded in a taupey brick shade a bit darker than the shutters. The benches (Ellsworth on benches.com) have been painted to match the shutters. I like them. Amysrq, the plants you mention sound interesting and I will pass them along to our wonderful landscape architect. Thanks. Caroleah -- no offense taken on the roof suggestion. Yes, we're planning on cleaning it -- just trying to find something that will not damage the roof like pressure washing can. Next week the digging up of the old walkway and some plants will begin. That's why we have to figure out the door color. So I hear it for a dark berry or black -- any green/teal fans out there or anything else? Thanks so much to all!...See MoreRelated Professionals
