In Consumer Reports tests, the Bosch HGI8056UC did not perform well. It's sibling, the HGI8046UC was expected to perform similarly. Per its ratings, the LG LSGL6335F or LSGL6337F would have been better choices.

Thank you very much WD. I signed up for CR and took a look - yikes! I also took a closer look at the LGs and no warming drawer in the silver stainless which is a must have. I cancelled the Bosch though my old Jennair is throwing error codes and I need it to work at Thanksgiving. Ugghhh..... I have an amazing repair guy so I guess I'll see what he has to say and work on a TG contingency plan.

Well now I'm back to the idea of induction as long as I can find a competent person to upgrade the electrical and disable the gas. I recall reading some other opinions here on induction ranges and there was an LG model that I liked that got positive reviews from someone here. I have one at home that I really like but it's not slide-in.

There have been several threads on LG induction slide-in models. IIRC, wdccruise and TorontoVetrinarian have each had the mid-range LSE4617 model for a while and posted postively about it. There were recent threads (which searches aren't turning up for me for some reason) about the least expensive induction slide-in model model (LSE4616). (That may be the same thread you were recalling and couldn't find.) I'm also recalling another recent thread (also not turning in for me in searches) on LG's more expensive "Studio" versions (LSG models). Hopefully, wdccruise will be back to fill in those gaps.

There aren't many slide-in gas ranges with warming drawers: Beko SLGR30532SS 30 Inch Slide-in Gas Range (specs).

I saw Beko but never heard of it. What kind of brand is that - any good? I can't find that particular model on the Beko website or at the dealer in the area where I need to purchase it.

Beko is one of the brands of the Turkish conglomerate, Arçelik. The company's other brand here has been Blomberg. Beko has been a big appliance brand in Europe (the UK in particular), where it seems to be aimed mostly at the low to mid-range priced market. Beko branded products started showing up in the North American market about 5 or 6 years ago.

The brand has gotten mixed reviews from third-party reviewers, had some product safety issues (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beko ), and likely presents the same concerns as Blomberg about limited post-sale product service and support.

Does "silver stainless" mean "regular stainless as-opposed-to black stainless" or are you looking for the finish that LG' refrigerators have that is actually called "silver stainless?"

If you meant "as opposed to black stainless," and you are still considering a gas slide-in LG with a warming drawer, you might check to see if the LG Studio model LSSG3017ST is still available.

FWIW, the LG "4616" induction slide-in does not have a warming drawer but the LSE4617ST and the LG Studio ( LSIS3018SS ) models both come with warming drawers and can be had in either regular or "black stainless" finishes.

Thanks all - I will take a closer look at the LG models mentioned. I believe I did see one that was about $1000 more that had a warming drawer but didn't dig too deep because of the price. I'm looking for regular stainless - not back stainless. I really want a warming drawer. At times I need two ovens but with only one I can get by with a warming drawer. I've looked at the double oven ranges - just can't get into the bottom oven at floor level. I'm living with a warming drawer at the bottom at my city home and that works well. It's not like you roast a 14 lb turkey in there which you would do in the bottom of a double oven range.

I had a KA gas range in the past and will never have another Whirlpool company appliance. The stainless on the front of it corroded for no reason. Same thing happened to a friend with same range in electric version. For now my appliance repair guy thinks he can fix my old Jennair along with my SZ fridge. He's very knowledgeable and reasonably priced. Will give that a try and see how it goes. We are thinking about selling this place next year so would be nice not to have to invest in new appliances if that happens. However that's not for sure so if I do have to buy new it needs to be something I would want to use if I stick around for a while.
