Nancii, We have 7-8 slots open last count. If you have some friends you want to bring, bring them. Each person will need to bring a white elephant gift(anything you want to get rid of), whatever project you want to work on and FQ's. We will have various demos, play games throughout the weekend. the FQ's are for Quilto (which is like bingo - 1 fq per card) various prizes and a goody bag for each participant. Saturday morning interested parties will go to the Paris Quilt shop that is optional. Some people bring their knitting, crocheting, UFO's etc. I bring my machine, 2-3 projects, an Ott-lite, snacks,power strips, extra needles, etc. We usually have a great time and the ranch is beautiful. They prepare all the food and clean up so we only sew and visit. They have all the bed linens,etc. We do have to strip the beds on our last night and checkout is noon on Sunday. We will send out a newsletter once we get everyone's address. I hope Doris will come, too. It's not that far from Sulphur Springs. Carolyn

Only a month away now and 3 months since my knee replacement. I'd hoped rehab would be further along but guess I just have a very active inflammatory system. Still struggling with swelling in knee and ankle making bending and walking gait not great, despite pt and exercises on own and even some elevation/icing on occasion. A 6-day treatment with methyl prednisolone last week worked well but don't know how long it'll last (lowest dosage usually prescribed). All this is to say that I don't feel confident enough that I'll be ready to travel to the retreat this year. Likely will be having second knee replaced in a few months. Hope that I'll be able to come next year. Looking forward to photos and reading about this year's fun.

I am bringing pimento cheese and chicken salad for lunches. Also bringing a machine for Sue. I will bring my Accuquilt dies so that we have more dies available. Since I am the closest to camp, I will probably be first one there or close to it. I may stop in Kingsport, TN and have breakfast with a friend. Does anyone need any certain color of fabric for a project? I am in need of purple 2.5" strips if anyone has any. I am doing a scrappy Jamestown Landing in purples. If anyone finds my stylus that Marsha gave us at Retreat a few years back, please let me know. I have lost it...I know it is in something around here! LOL Every time I sit down to sew I miss it.

Today was our last full day at retreat and once again we were productive. Jackie won a game of LRC and worked on cutting HST's. Jennifer finished her Double Wedding Ring quilt, started another top, and won a game of LRC Sue made great progress on the fishing quilt, it is ready for quilting. Teresa cut 3 inch blocks and started a scrappy charity quilt. I finished pillow shams to go with Tim's quilt, made a purple Strip-Twist, and worked on some charity quilts. And lastly, Tim and Jennifer conspired and made me a wall hanging of my Meena. It is a real treasure to me and brings tears to my eyes every time I see it. Thank you both so much. Here is our group picture for the year. Jennifer, Jackie, Meena, Beverly, Sue, Teresa Tomorrow we have to pack up and head home. It has been a wonderful retreat again this year, but next year we will have to find a new location due to price increases. If you know of anything in or around NC or VA please let us know.
