Help: how to disguise 4" gap between wall and new gas range
Comments (8)If I am visualizing this correctly, I think that a shelf is a great idea. Whether this is a range with a back or a slide in with a level top, it should work. SS would be my first choice, easy and readily available. You also might be able to find a scrap of matching pre-fab granite either at a local yard/shop or online, if yours is one of the common granites. If you have more of your tile, you could also tile a piece of wood for the shelf and bring the wall tile down to counter level. Edited to add: Can not your plumber move the gas outlet closer to the wall? Mine was moved with little difficulty, but he had access from the basement....See MoreGap under single wall oven- filling the gap advice
Comments (26)Old thread but let us be realistic about adding a drawer. 2 2.x 4's stacked is only around 3" of space. 3" minus clearance allowance for the drawer bottom. Minus 1/2" thickness of the drawer bottom. You might get a 2 1/4" deep drawer in there. Using side mount slides. And a drawer with a planted on plywood drawer bottom. Forget using those fancy Blum bottom mounts. Those require drawer bottoms that are recessed. 'In there'--means you have to pull the oven out of the hole in order to mount the drawer slides. After you get the 2 x 4's fastened down and square with the cabinet. Those 2 x 4's cost you at least 7" of potential drawer width. Then you have to come up with a drawer front that matches the cabinets. Not. Worth. It. And dang, I forgot all about needing to use at least a 3/4" wide piece of material at the top of the opening--face frame construction. Your drawer just shrunk by another 3/4". The metal trim is a good idea. Another solution is to glue and pocket screw a filler in place to cover the gap before installing the oven....See MoreHelp with gap between wall and granite
Comments (3)How much does your counter overhang the cabinets please? If you don't mind sacrificing some, scribe the top to the wall, pull the top, cut to the scribe, and reinstall. I'll look great....See MoreNeed help with wide, uneven gaps in corners between tile and wall.
Comments (15)This is above the tub/shower. Again, he didn't do the waterproofing and I am confident the corner is well sealed behind the tile (goboard, goboard sealant, fibertape embedded in hydroban) but I still thought he would have run the tiles closer, as I can see the goboard behind it the tile. I assume the latasil caulk here is all that is needed. I just don't know if this is the way most do the corners in walls. all of the corners have gaps. Maybe this is the expansion joint that EJ 171 is referring to and supposed to be a gap?...See MoreSilvia Punta
