Yes they are too large and too square. Is there room to turn them to face the sofa?

If there's enough space, consider moving sofa to window wall and put chairs together across from it, and add a rug with complimentary colors, and perhaps a round coffee table. Tower light and artwork on wall can pull it together more, along with curtains if you prefer..

Thank you! I can try this tomorrow and post pics. What rug color would you suggest? If my walls are light gray and the sofa is gray and chairs are blue. Also, do you think having all very square pieces of furniture takes away from the space & makes it less homey?

I don't think the square furniture makes it less homey, but your accessories to pull the room together can bring more visual accent colors, like artwork, chair pillows and some round features to balance it out, like a round coffee table, a small round end table. Take a sofa and chair cushion to the rug store and see how they compliment with rug styles you like. They don't need to match but blend well together. Good luck!

Funny 😆 had same exact thought. Try turning them. You may still want to swap. But we will reevaluate then.

Seeing ideas and getting so much inspiration on social networks is great, but many times we hesitate to take the step for fear that the result will not look good. When this happens, I usually use interior design software, such as Planner 5D, which is used by both professionals and amateurs, and there you can create the room you need in 3D to get an idea of how it will look. I encourage you to try it!

If you can't return them, you can certainly make them work. Even as shown, if you added some colorful pillows on the sofa so it isn't so stark looking across the back, it would help coordinate with the chairs. Right now the chair are dominating the space, but it's not just the size, but the color is kind of overshadowing the sofa. (They are a nice color). Add some art and a rug, along with a coffee table and I think you'll be fine.

Are you missing back cushions on the couch? It looks so uncomfortable!

Its actually surprisongly comfy! I do have large throw pillows to put on!

Good to hear! Does this room open up or connect to the family room and dining room? If so, what colors do you have in there? The walls look pale pink on my screen, but they are actually pale gray, right?

You say you have a LR and a TV room which space are you showing.? To get real help we nned measurements of the space and the furniture . I think right now it looks bare and uninviting with art on the walls and a couple of pillows the space will feel different and I agree if this is the LR space then the chairs turned to face the sofa would be a much better choice but I need a to scale floor plan of the whole living space with all measurements clearly marked . I have no idea where each space is at the moment.

I think the decision is made that the chairs don't work. I think you can return them to Home Goods. Will there be a TV over the console opposite the sofa? I would look for smaller scale swivel chairs for your space. Take your time design takes time. Good Luck

You can still make grays and blues work together. While those look different, you can add a mix of colors with elements like a rug, wall art, and pillows.
