I have very sore feet all the time (I wore high heels exclusively during the 80s - now I'm paying for it). I saw these in a store, and walked right by them - figured the price was ridiculous. Well, I'm a bit older now and a bit sorer, and I happened to be in a store that sold them. No one else was around, so I tried them. I don't know about toning legs, but they were INCREDIBLY comfortable. I have a knee replacement in my right knee, and broke my left ankle 11 years ago (surgery, pins, PT - the whole 9 yards) - and no, I'm not in my 80s by a long shot. I'm now looking for these shoes on sale (hard to find sales). They didn't look quite as dorky when they were on as they did in the pictures and on the shelves. You can find them on eBay, but don't buy any shoes from eBay unless you've tried them on first and know exactly what size you need. They sell quick and high there as well. There are many places that sell them over the internet - again, try them on first or make sure you can return them (you usually can't on eBay). If you go to MBT's website - http://www.swissmasaius.com, click on "where to buy," and specify how far you're willing to go, it will pull up a list including store name, address, and telephone number. I live in a suburb of DC, and with a 20-mile search area, it pulled up 22 stores - including Naturalizer. For me to have done that much research, obviously I'm impressed. Try them out - I'd love to hear your reactions to them as well. By the way, I haven't paid less than $100 for shoes in a couple of years. The worst thing in the world is sore feet. If you have the right shoes, it helps everything else stay in line and happy. Everyone wears crocs these days (including my mother and daughter), but there is absolutely no support at all in them.

I have never been able to wear walking sneakers of any kind. The only time of sneaker I can wear without pain is a New Balance X trainer style. Used to wear Nike and Reebok cross trainers but they changed. I once bought a pair of walking sneakers for a trip to Disneyland. Wore them for 3 hours the first evening and the pain started at the ankle, then the knee and finally the hip. I wore sandals for the rest of the weekend because I couldn't even stand in those shoes without pain. It took me a month to fully recover. So I can see how that women could have hip fractures if she has brittle bones. But I think suing is insane. If something hurts then stop using it fool. I really wear sneakers. I wear sport sandals and flip flops in the summer and boots in the winter. Sketchers seem to be made for flat feet. I never found a pair that offered any support at all for my high arch.

I recently bought a black leather Stressless recliner made by Ekornes. I am not extremely excited about the way it looks, but I have neck problems and finally could not tolerate my wing back chair anymore. It is the most comfortable chair you can imagine. I had to compromise looks vs pain relief. Now my family grabs the chair if I am not in it! I have a friend who has had hers for years and it still is in fabulous shape. I hate the bottom of the chair more than anything. Have not figured out how to post pictures yet, sorry.

Glad to hear so many others wear flats-- whether because they like them or they have to. Someone asked up above if my shoes need to be flat flat-- they don't.. but the most important thing is that my foot feels secure.. and that it IS secure. Especially for this event where there will be a lonnnng hike in uneven grass to the event location (it's across a long field and up a hill). almost all the dresses I current have that are dressy enough have either ruffles or a flounce like this. Trust me, I've tried them-- flats do NOT look great with this style. I have a number of them because they balance out my wide shoulders and broad hips and I think look very flattering.. but alas, they just don't work with the shoes I am stuck with. I did receive the first dress I ordered above and while I very much dislike the dress (the pattern and the quality), the dress actually does look good with flats.. so the good news is I now I have a style to look for. JT.. that's adorable but the skirt is too full for my ample bottom and hips. Thanks for looking for me!
