Wall and ceiling colors to go with Chantilly Lace trim

We are redoing our house and picked Simply White for the wall and Chantilly Lace for the trim. After painting, the house was too white and the contrast was not enough to make it look intentional. If I had read more of the discussions I would have just done Simply White on the trim, too. But it's too expensive to repaint the trim, so we are now considering painting the wall White Dove. Two questions for folks,
1. Do people have experience with White Dove on walls and Chantilly Lace on trims? Where we could test the combination, we liked it. But we haven't been able to test it in the basement and I've heard White Dove can turn very yellow in certain conditions, so if people have experience with that, could you let us know the lighting conditions? Our basement is south facing and has windows on one side.
2. Assuming we go with White Dove on the walls, should we use White Dove or Chantilly Lace for the ceiling? We don't have any moulding between the walls and the ceilings.

Here is White Dove on walls and Chantilly Lace on trim/crown. Yes, White Dove has a slight yellow tint to it. The darker color is Winds Breath that I repainted over. Ceiling is also Chantilly Lace.

You can use Chantilly Lace on the ceiling, or what they call ceiling white. Ceilings tend to pick up some tint from the walls due to reflections and the ceiling is not going to be next to the trim so you don't have to be as picky.

If the combination doesn't work in the basement I don't think there's anything wrong with using something different there. Try Classic Gray in that instance. It isn't very gray or dark, but the gray in it works well in a southern exposure. It looks good with Chantilly Lace also.

why are you using white on the walls? if you want white, then use Chantilly. (Actually, I'd use Pure White or Simply White for all the trim. they are neutral w/no undertones. Chantilly is a cool white and can have icy blue/green hues) try crushed ice. it's a very nice color on the wall. or BM Pale Oak. this white in the pic is a warmer, neutral white. I would rethink using Chantilly w/your warm floors and gray cabinets.

Hi we are building new house - modern/open concept but not ultra modern. Was recommended to do Chantilly Lace trim/doors/ceiling and paint White dove for bathroom walls, kitchen cabinetry. However I've been reading that white dove while a versatile and lovely colour can look bad next to a truer white eg. White tile, toilets/tubs, chantilly lace, so now I'm worried about areas where these 2 are going to be side by side. Ideally I want a warm but versatile white not creamy and it would be nice to have the same ceiling/trim/door colour everywhere. Should I reconsider these colours together? Or will they be just fine? Bathrooms I could have different trim/ceiling colour but it gets tricky in open concept kitchen, dining room and family room. I can't do paint swatches and don't have the millwork done yet - just have to pick a colour and go with it as this is construction for a whole house. General colour scheme for what has been selected so far: natural oak and walnut millwork, oak floors, black frame windows, tiles grey/greige/white/soft white colours. I've looked at both colours and while I like them each separately not sure about putting them together but I'm looking at paint chips only. Appreciate any advice as I am starting to go crazy researching white paint!!

Thank you chispa and kandrewspa. That's helpful. I think because we don't have moulding, we are leaning towards doing the ceiling in White Dove too. If people have feedback about that combination, please let us know.

IMO use the CL just for walls and ceiling in a matte why complicate this by mixing whites . If the CL looks good in the spaces keep it simple. Or choose an actul color for the walls
