I'm not sure about those colors. They looks sort of icky pinky to me. :) But a dark warm color is not a bad idea at all!

I do think once the wallpaper is gone you'll find that the pink stone isn't all that pink and you might have more options than you realize.

Come back when all the hideaous wallpaper is gone IMO impssible to choose anew wall color right now.IMO change the floors or the counters there is no way to minimize these 2 things that do not in any way work. Is this a master bath? I need more info as to your style since this IMO is kind of like mcmansion home exterior brought inside.

That’s not how this is happening; paper is coming down, wall skim coated then being painted.

Nothing is being changed except the wallpaper and lighting, which is why the questions is directed at paint color.

It’s an old house with quality finishes and I like the pink.

As with all painting projects, sampling is very important. We are not going to be able to see the nuances in colors from photos online, so either buy some samples from Samplize.com or paint samples on boards so you can move it around the room. Look at them during the day and at night. If the dark colors don't work out for you, try SW Alabaster. It's a popular warm white. Maybe you can find towels to add some complementary color with lighter walls.

Photos can be so deceiving that it is hard to say for sure what will work once the wallpaper is gone, but a darker shade of the same colors as the counter may work, a color that is the same as the trim could work, or a contrast blue or green could work.

Due to the lighting in the picture these are not the best renditions, but I did what I could to give you some options.

Golly, the negative comments about floor and McMansion stuff are way off. The vanity looks custom, functional, and high end. The stone is actually rather pretty (even if it's pink!). The room might be slightly dated but nothing about it looks cheap, cookie-cutter, or lacking customization.

I know the chandelier goes with the wallpaper, but it's sort of adorable. Is there more lighting other than the can lights (functional) and the chandelier (possibly too cute) to replace?

Hahaha I’m not sure about that but if you’d like to have it, it’s yours! It’s kind of a pain to dust and if you put your hands too high you bang it. I’m definitely replacing it, maybe with glass/crystal to really bounce the light on the dark color (if I go that way).

I think the pink is nice but it needs to be offset with the right paint color (velvety chestnut) and lighting. Is my conclusion somewhat accurate?

I think velvety brown could work, but I don't think it has to be. I think it could be rather luscious with blues.

Maybe it's my monitor but I sure didn't like the browns you had picked. I'd have to go with a more edible shade, like a Hershey bar. Whatever you do, paint up some big samples first!

I think I used too many forest service pit toilets as a child and I am too biased, but these pinky browns are not my cup of tea.

The one time in my life I stripped wallpaper was a disaster of epic proportions! 🤣

I remember the 80's and Waverly's ribboned papers. The look was very popular for children's bedrooms, using a full wall paper or ribboned borders. It was cute and of the time (contemporary). It wasn't hideous then, and now it is a fun (dated) memory.

Red End Point is Sherwin Williams color of the year. Everything in this photo could work in your bathroom. Nautral fabrics, creamy woodwork, a. touch of Moroccan and a (washable) sisal look rug.

BTW, the counter top is not bad at all. Floor not so good, that's why a rug is important.

Some of this wallpaper has been coming off in sections just by slowly peeling. I’ve taken several sections off since I posted.

Here’s what I’ve come to and will paint tonight and live with for the weekend - Velvety Chestnut (and maybe one or two others to compare) but use Hush White on the horizontal overhang where the recessed lighting is as well as the trim.
