Comments (2)Dan and Rebecca, Have you gotten to the point with the house where the two of you can just relax for a couples of days or maybe even a week? The place sounds dreamy. Mellow? Reminds me of an old song. Can we call you Mellow Yellow? Sorry, it the only allusion I can think of off the top of me head... Michael...See MoreHumpback Whale
Comments (21)You're probably thinking of Made in the Shade. Now Q&Z is gone, they're one of the biggest TC nurseries. TC can be a good thing, BTW. Done right, the plants are checked so they're disease free before culturing - no chance of spreading HVX or anything else. I put in a tiny Humpback Whale last year and it is already the size of a mature medium hosta. It's in a new and heavily amended bed, but still, that's impressive growth. If life ever calms down, I'll get a photo of it posted....See Morehere is a list of what was lost...
Comments (20)I just spoke to the Mail Recovery Center in Atlanta. They were very kind. The box top that I received was mailed from MD not Atlanta. The contents of the box and anything else that MD has acquired from broken and lost mail was sent at the same time under separate cover to Atlanta. I asked why the floor supervisor didn't respond 2 months ago to requests for information on this box and she had no answer. I explained that we felt that it would have been a lot easier to match the broken box with the contents immediately rather than wait 2 months . She said yes that would be true. Everyone agrees that the chance of another box of children's books breaking open in MD on that day is slim to none. If the person up there had done his job all of this could have been avoided. Of course if I had used UPS .... I am on my way to the post office now with the above list. She said they will immediately begin a search when it is received. Thank you ALL for your notes. I am trying to remain positive. c...See More~I'm Going On A Cruise and I...
Comments (22)We took a Princess cruise and land tour several years ago. It was wonderful. We got a room with a balcony on the top deck so we could sit out there and look at all the sights without standing on deck being cold. We went in early May and the weather was not all that bad.....in fact, no mosquitos and very little rain. It was great to wrap up in blankets and call room service for coffee. We loved staying at one of the Princess Hotels in Denali and took the bus trip. Excellent! The train ride to Denali was OK but we took the bus back to Anchorage and enjoyed it much more. Our very favorite side trip was outside Skagway on the bus tour to the Yukon. There was also a train trip but the bus ride was a great experience. We got to stop along the way if there was something interesting to see.....like a big wolf near the side of the road. The guide was really a lot of fun and knew the history of the Yukon gold rush. We also stopped for lunch at a museum/gift shop. I bought the book Alaska by James Michener there and re read it. I would suggest you read it on your trip. We opted not to have scheduled meal times and that worked out very well. We met some people who were from a tiny town here in California where my maternal grandmother was born. Small world. We took the trip to Mendenhall Glacier outside of Juneau. Take lots of pictures and keep a journal so you can share your experiences with us when you return. Have a wonderful trip!...See MoreUser
