That is awkward - they should have made the wall of cabinets continuous. I vote for a bar cart and maybe floating shelves above it. Art would work too. They are beautiful cabinets though!

IMO - I would add/continue the molding to the top of the cabinetry in the dining area.

That looks look a handy spot for a step stool. Vertical art that suits your decor would be lovely, too.

That's where the coffee/toast bar should have been located so you'd have all that clear space right of the range for work space, a spot to place a cooling rack for cookies, etc. Get a local KD in to help you design a baking center there.

I would add a coffee bar using the same cabinetry - and also continue the crown onto the dining cabinets, too.

The space defines the transition from kitchen to dining. You don't need more stuff, you need art and color. Your cabinets are very busy and your island has trim. Allow it to be a breathing space between the two rooms.

It's okay for a blank wall to exist, much like being bored and not death scrolling through your phone or watching mindless TV.

I agree with Jen. Your rug defines the dining room as another space. “Less is more”. It looks great “as is”. Your kitchen and dining areas are quite lovely!

Thanks so much for your feedback. Yes we are planning on continuing the moulding above the cabinets in the dining room area - and think I will go with some artwork.
