Stacked Bay window help!

Hello! I absolutely hate our white double stacked bay window - I feel like it stands out as this huge white column and I do not know how to fix it. Every other home in our neighborhood has brick on their double bay windows, but ours is unfortunately white…and the brick mortar is also white. :( I really wish it was brick!

I have talked with a few contractors and one suggested adding a porch stretching to the garage to help draw the eye away from the bay windows…

Help! Does anyone have any other ideas? I have attached 2 pics - one is recent, one is much older when the home had shutters. (previous owner removed shutters.)

(We unfortunately cannot paint the brick white as our next door neighbors just painted their home white and I do not think our HOA will approve it.)

Paint it a color that blens better with the brick. BTW painting brick is the fastest way to devalue your house .Put shutter back on the single windows only and I really do not like the blue door.. I wpuld also paint the window trim the same as the bay and then the door and th shutters a darker version of the bay color.

Paint it dark so instead of advancing, it recedes.

I would look at roller shades and maybe even the possiblity of battery powered ones. They will give you a clean look and clear view of your window openings. If you want curtains, you can use an iron rod and have it bent to the corners of your bay windows. Use a mount at either end and 1 in the middle (screw it in place so the rod doesn't move). You can then close the curtains to the center of the opening without any major issues.

By cafe curtains, do you mean the tiered set? I'm just not sure what that means? I always think of kitchen curtains! How would I mount a curtain rod from the ceiling? I once had regular curtain rods before I put in the seat, but with the roller shades, there is no place to put the rod hooks. I don't want to block off the windows as in the first photos-I mostly need to be able to block the extreme sunlight and provide some evening privacy if needed.

It would also depend on the outside of your house. My original living room had 3 double hung, side by side window. I replaced them with a larger fixed center window and a narrower casement on each side, with in the glass muntins. (Noted that you have sliders with muntins). The new window area looks bigger than the previous ones, although it is in the same location. Also, hanging your drapes so that they expand further to each side and cover less of the window would make the window area look larger, even if you don’t change the current bay.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting Luckily we are getting a new front door - it was bright yellow, and we painted it blue during Covid. The previous owner’s wife died of cancer, and he painted the door bright yellow to remind their kids of their mom. we respectfully kept it yellow for a few years (she was very loved by the neighbors), but painted it blue during Covid and now it will finally be replaced. We have the budget to do a major exterior reno, just not sure what to do. :(

Same as Beverly, but I’d consider changing out all your trim to continue the grey. You could leave only your window trim white though, or change it all to grey.
Or add grey shutters and hardware, shutter dogs and hinges, to the three single hung windows. The other windows aren’t appropriately sized for shutters.

I am wondering if maybe my pictures do not accurately show the house - we have very white mortar so I am not sure grey would look good? :(

You do have grey up on your roof! I think the double window would look great in grey leaving the window trim white. Lot cheaper than adding a big porch.
