How to update my front entry?

Thinking of having a covered front entry build and extending the stoop to include railing. Trying to picture how this would look. The front porch was enclosed by previous owners.

Instead of expanding the footprint (which will cost a lot more than seems logical) change the exterior so it looks like a porch again. Columns, larger windows, etc.

is the enclosed porch used as a porch? or is it a room?

I would replace the window with a flush window

and put a roof over the entire front and create a larger landing... or remove both the door & window and add a large door with sidelites for a more grand entrance.

@Lyn NielsonIt is used as a porch. I like the idea of a grand entrance but that would be a major project.

Curious to know what you all think of this. I made it using a virtual exterior paint tool, which really isn't the tool for the job. It was, however, one I had access to. I basically drew it all for a rough idea and wasn't able to fully edit out everything I would have wanted. I also couldn't choose quite all the color variation I would have wanted in my decor here simply because all the colors except black were translucent. The house and door colors are actual colors I am considering as well adding the shutters. Anyways, very curious to hear what you think. Also I would probably do something to hide the basement window...just not sure yet. Again this is a general idea made with, let's face it, a very poor tool. Thanks for all the help you've given me on this!

I don't like wreaths - but I would get a much larger door mat, or even an outdoor rug that covers much of the doorstep. If you can find one, choose a solid color or simple pattern ( to stay with the theme of solid door, simple bold stripe)

If the siding is corrected and the ground is sloped away from your foundation and you have properly installed and functional weeping tile around your foundation, you won't have a leak. A cover over your front entry is a nice feature and will keep you dry while you're searching for your keys. But it's not meant to keep your foundation from leaking. If that were its purpose, you'd need a cover all the way around your house.

Sorry. This is a bit better pic. we have a big front lawn in front. The driveway is on the left in front of garage you need to walk around to the front door which has no walkway and shrubs that have taken over! mostly, everyone uses our side door off a sunroom. would like to have the front door entrance appealing and finally used!!

Proper door style and if you can, redo the trim on the windows

you could go for something like this cover

@Beth H. : I appreciate you resending me the link. How do you retrive? If this were my forever home I would extend the front to have an open porch. The bay window I need to keep because it hasnt been there long and its in good shape even though style does not match. I can probably update landscaping to help.
