With credit cards, are there fees just for having access to using them or only on completed sales? If the latter, the amount the society would likely obtain by selling more plants would make it more than worthwhile. Why not allow PayPal? Again there is a fee if Friends & Family is not used but, again, the amount sales could increase would offset that. While there may have been some folks who went and hit the ATM, a lot of people will not bother doing so. At the orchid shows, if the vendors only took cash or checks a lot of plants would never get sold. Even for myself, this applies though to a lesser extent. I often sell carnivorous plants at the shows as the vendor I help out graciously allows me to use a small area by the register to sell them. I prefer to only take cash (won't take checks), but on several occasions only made the sale because I allowed the customer to use PP.
