Thanks for the pics. DH thinks darker colors would be best, but I prefer a lighter color. So far, most seem to be suggesting darker colors. Since the redwood is already relatively dark, are there any fans of a lighter pairing? The 2nd pic doesn't show much wood, but I do like some of the lighter colors there.

There are different kinds of residential stone "veneer" systems. It can be adhered thin stone veneer or adhered manufactured stone veneer (AMSV) or a stone veneer cavity wall. Without knowing the system its difficult to comment but I'm going to assume it's the more economical AMSV system. When installed on wood framing SMSV is like stucco; it requires 2 layers of water-resistant barrier (WRB), metal lath and a scratch coat. The outermost or finish surface consists of manufactured stone pieces adhered to the scratch coat with a mortar setting bed. This system lends itself to the close rake and eave detailing you desire but it can be a disaster in wet climates. So, tell us the wall system and where the project is located so others can help you.

My soffits and fascia are the same color. Neighbor to my left is the same. Neighbor to my right has soffits that match the white house color and has brown fascia. I can't even tell what the 2 neighbors across the street have, unless I got much closer to the houses. In many cases the gutters end up covering the fascia! I like them the same color unless there is some special design element that is being highlighted.

Instead of Black consider Charcoal or Gray. Not as stark in my opinion. Have you tried ColorSnap? Here are versions I created with your Mount Etna, with Iron Ore and Dovetail and Caviar.
