Dinner club follow up

last year

A few weeks ago I solicited ideas for a tomato recipe for a dinner to be held in the tomato garden. Sadly, one of the hosts came down with the dreaded C yesterday and that dinner was cancelled. I finished the dish today and took it to a good friend’s home where 4 of us had a nice summery meal. I made a tomato nectarine tart with a corrnmeal crust. The crust was tender and pleasantly crunchy and did not get soggy. The crust recipe was interesting in that it included both butter and olive oil. The filling was chevre, eggs, some pomegranate molasseses, honey, and lemon thyme.

We enjoyed it as sort of a cheese course before dessert. They liked it!
