My first try at plate flowers plus bottle tree
Comments (9)Thanks all! To clarify, the plates are all glass. I got the plain blue ones at Dollar Tree for a buck apiece, the rest of the clear glass items I got at Goodwill. I used the glass paint on the clear glass items to give them some contrasting color to the cobalt blue back plates. Feel free to post your glass plate creations so we can all be inspired!...See Morefirst try at pictures. Easter decorations
Comments (10)Thanks for all the compliments. I will get better at posting pictures. The plates in the middle and bottom shelf are my Moms and are years old. The small oval one came from Homegoods(I consider that my second home). I have lots more spring stuff but it is packed away in the basement so I'm going to leave it until I'm able to get down there. I usually do leave what I put out for Easter until late spring and then work in some summer things. have glass display shelves in my living room but this year I'm only doing the little cupboard in the breakfast area. Our dining area gets no use at this time and won't until I'm better. I love all the beautiful things that you gals put out. It makes me realize there are many ways I can use what I have. My good china is Old Country Roses(from when I was in my high Victorian mode). I bought a teapot sugar and creamer in London 10 years ago, dragged it through the Airport paying the fees etc and then saw it cheaper here in Cincinnati. I did learn a lesson there. I'm trying to scout around for a tablecloth to use for tea. You don't know how much this sie means to me as therapy at this time. Looking forward to more lovely pictures....See MoreSon and his first try.
Comments (36)Everyone has already said it and when I saw it the word precious came to mind. Obviously it came to everyone else's mind as it was used in several posts. This, like SUSIE says, touches my heart. Kiss that little artist for me. He is doing an excellent job. Oh what a joy to see him. Bless you for being such a terrific mom....See MoreFirst try at stippling on a table runner
Comments (15)Though I've never used it, my machine has a start/stop button. So, I could set the speed control and then turn it on avoiding the foot pedal all together. I think that would maybe help with FMQ... I'll have to try it one day. Maybe your machine has that button? If you have a speed control, maybe find your best speed for stippling, and then all you have to do is pedal to the metal...max out your foot and then don't think about what it's doing while you move your hands....See Morecoool_anna
