Comments (10)THANKS, Jodi and Elizabeth! I have the surgery scheduled for Feb 4. They try to get their patients out within 48 hours so they do not pick up infection in the hospital. To get out, I will need to be able to walk across the room with a walker or crutches and go up 2 steps. Having been through cartilege removal surgeries a couple of times, I have heard that the total replacement is not much worse. They will call me on Friday to tell me what time to show up in the morning. My girlfriend and I are going to a big Garden show In Tacoma the day before, then out to lunch for a blow out, LOL. After that they may as well put me to sleep and get it over with! I will be confined to home for the next month of so, as long as I need any help with housekeeping, or my own care. If I leave home for other then Dr my help will be cut off, so I will count on you guys to keep me entertained. The surgeon is extremely good, and I have talked to a number of people who have done really well under him and see it as a very positive experience. We are starting with the left knee, and will leave the more complicated right knee until fall so I can get my gardening in. Dr says I should be back in the garden by early MArch, so that is a goal I can work toward. This is a new improved form of the surgery where they do not cut through the quad muscle but go in from the side under it, so it heals much faster and without as much pain. I am really looking forward to being able to work without pain in my garden and business...it has been 28 years since this started with tearing the cartilege in my right knee. Tore the left one 7 years ago just walking across flat ground! So I hope to be home to my laptop computer and recliner and have some time between pain med sleepiness, and therapy, by Wed or Thurdays after the surgery. And yes, I am excited about the possibilites of being able to work without pain before long! A goal worth working toward!...See MoreSebright Hostas Order Came Today...
Comments (6)Nice root systems with divisions of mature plants attached to them. ===>>> really??? division.. rather than potted or uncut plant ??? if so.. there is no damage to complain if ... in the day ... they used to snip off the leaves.. and send.. what looks like rooted grocery store plants ... you bought future potential .... and you got it ... your excitement.. will be at reflush ... i think you peeps have to be careful.. between comparing a potted ... or uncut full plant ... with fresh cut divisions ... and adjust your expectation accordingly ... a fresh cut division.. is all about buying.. a mature ROOT MASS ... as compared to what you can jam into a 2.25 inch pot ... as to the shipper... what can i say.. they got you a live plant ... besides complaining ... which its too late.. since you took them out of the package ... what are your damages??? you dont like a couple leaves??? you got a great haul.. ken...See Moredont order from - wholesale furniture brokers
Comments (21)SAVE YOURSELF TROUBLE - DO NOT ORDER FROM WHOLESALE FURNITURE BROKERS and Be Cautious with ordering any furniture online. I made the mistake of ordering a their complete Sonoma Queen bedroom set online from Wholesale Furniture Brokers and have had the most unpleasant experience. The furniture looks good on the website, but when we received it and tried to assemble, it was a very frustating experience. To start with, the wood is the cheapest and worst quality imaginable for furniture purposes. It is very close to 'matchstick' quality wood and kept breaking during assembly!!! The metal fittings and screws are also poor quality. The bed slats were also of poor quality wood and a few millimeters short in length, such that it did not reach the support bracket at one end. Dissatisfied with what I had opened and assembled, I wanted to return some of the unopened and untouched items for a refund. But their 'Customer Service' refused to accept anything back saying the items were 'custom made to order'. When I pointed out to them that their labels and markings on the package indicated dates that were several months before my order was placed, the lady said she would check and revert back. Needless to say, they did not provide a satisfactory explanation nor accept the unopened boxes or provide a refund. I will never ever buy again from Wholesale Furniture Brokers and would strongly suggest that you do not either. It would be much more safer to buy furniture from a reputed physical shop where you can see and feel the material before buying and check that if for any reason, if you are dissatisfied, they have a reasonable returns policy....See MoreService problems after lightning damaged my new heat pump
Comments (7)cindywhitall - No worries, your comment is spot-on and pretty much sums up my situation. Jackfre - I hear you, but despite my well-earned cynicism I'm too honest to take that path (tangled webs and what-not). If there's only one party acting with integrity through this, I want it to be me... ...but today was an interesting day and there may be hope for a decent resolution. First, I talked to my homeowners insurance company about my claim - and they seem ready to cover any damages from the lighting strike and support replacement of the HVAC system. However, they will only cover the replacement - not the repairs that have been done so far. Second, I had a technician visit from the HVAC company - someone who has yet to be involved with my repair. He was interested to hear my story and as I gave him the rundown - and he saw the status of my system - he clearly felt that it had not been handled correctly. There were sloppy connections on the zone board (as I found) and the air handler error code indicated deeper damgage - which he confirmed with testing. He agreed that with lighting damage the repaired unit could have lingering isssues that would only get worse over time and replacement is the best solution - a real concern for a brand new system that we hope to get 15-20 years of service out of. He didn't have the authority to offer me any immediate help, but will be taking my case to one of the business owners tomorrow morning. As I see it, the first diagnosis was hasty and incomplete which set us up for a series of repairs that have been both expensive and ineffective. I'll ask them to refund the repairs and replace the air handler - which will be covered by insurance. Hopefully I find a sympathetic ear. If I knew three weeks ago what I know now, this all would have gone much more smoothly. As I've been reminding myself since the storm, at least no one was hurt (my wife saw sparks in the lving room when the lighting sruck), nothing caught fire, and the weather has been relatively mild while our AC is out. Plus, I've finally gotten around to making some nice window screens for the kids' bedrooms....See MoreSusan Davis
