Are the control joints important to keep if we’re epoxying over them?

Dominick H
last year

We are doing ’Elasti-deck’ epoxy over a previously concrete-top pool deck. The old deck has about 8 control joints to centralize cracking. We would like the new deck to look as pristine as possible, we decided originally to keep the control joints but the look is terrible (photos attached) so now

were thinking of filling in the control joints. Since Elasti-deck is supposed to shift and move with concrete under it, can we safely fill in those joints? Or should we keep them? it looks pretty bad and i dont want to keep them but if you have experience with Elasti-deck epoxy please let me know your thoughts!
