I'm here too, but mired in laundry and flyers for two mailings that I am labeling for my sister. I tried Pilates for the first time last week and I like it a lot. Now that isn't saying that I am good at it, but I feel like I can improve with time and I definitely think I will see a difference in my muscle tone. I am still going to Curves 3 times a week and walking 2 miles whenever I get the chance. I feel in control of my exercise and for the most part, I feel in control of my eating. I had to get weighed when I went for my checkup a few weeks ago and I wasn't happy with the number on the scale. But I do have to remember that I have gained muscle from Curves and muscle weighs more than fat. But from the way my clothes fit, I was surprised that the number on the scale wasn't lower. I guess that just proves that the scale isn't always the best measure of success. Mentally I felt exhaused last week. Too many phone calls and events that upset me and I couldn't shake that uneasy feeling that life was spiraling out of control. But this is a new week and I am hoping life doesn't hold any more surprises (at least unpleasant surprises) for me this week. I only have to work 3 days and then I get 5 days off. April is full of fun activities at school (field trips, ventriloquist, pony rides, etc.). I think April will fly and that means that summer will be here before I know it. Jen - I am glad the doctor's have found the reason for Erica's continued illnesses. Used to be every one got their tonsils out. But I think doctor's are more cautious these days. We are dealing with the Rota virus at preschool right now. Last week we only had 6 kids in our T-TH afternoon class. The 6 girls had a blast. We relaxed the rules a bit and let them play longer, choose whatever table they wanted to sit at and they got 2 snacks instead of one. But I am hoping everyone is healthy and ready to return on Tuesday, since that is their Easter party. DeeMarie - I don't know if I offered congratulations on your success with WW. WooHoo!!!!! I can feel your excitement and determination coming right through the computer screen! Keep up the good work. NHSuzanne - I am tired just thinking of hefting 100 bales of hay! Good morning from drizzly, cooler SE Texas! I just finished my oatmeal and having the last few sips of coffee before getting ready to go work out. This makes 8 days of doing it, with only Sunday off. I've already lost a few 10ths of my BMI! They have this little gizmo there that measures it, and I tried it yesterday, a week after the first time, and was pleased to see that 7 days of exercise made some difference. Suzanne, I never did try the polenta last weekend because I have 3 rolls of it in the fridge and didn't want to waste it yet. But, I'm definitely going to try it in a few weeks. I'm just not eating that much of it anymore, which is probably good. I'm no good at naming rides today, but I think that my favorite one I read from y'all has to be BJ's: The Kharma Carousel: what comes around, goes around. :) Patti, I've never heard of, much less been to a Rosa's. Are y'all going there while you're in Texas? I miss freely dining at a Mexican restaurant now - I always order fajita salads without sour cream and cheese. No chips. :( I'm not shopping anymore for at least a month because I'm just not losing enough to make a huge difference in what I still have to wear to places other than the fitness center. I am wearing t-shirts I couldn't wear before. When I go to Dallas at the end of May, I will break down and buy a few nicer things, but that's it. It's nice seeing so many posting these days. I was so tired and a little sore yesterday, so I just rested and didn't do anything else. Some days I just don't have anything to say. I'm always glad that y'all do though! LOL

I'm here too! NHSuzanne: HUGS, again! Man, you haven't gotten a break lately in the stress dept! With regard to your sis, my sister had a grapefruit-size fibroid removed from her ovary. It had completely engulfed the outside of her ovary. It was harmless and she remains in excellent health, with no other similar occurance in over 10 years. I hope your sis has the same experience. The medical field has advanced so much now that there are many options in treatment, depending on what she is dignosed with. Keep a positive attitude and take care of yourself. She may need your strong and capable attitude to help her through whatever is in her future, whether it be a surgery or something more. He has had a lot of studying to do, so we re-scheduled. We had a wonderful dinner last night at an Italian place and then went to a local free concert of Michael Powers, a jazz guitarist. Very good player! DeeMarie: The new healthcare laws do not prohibit docs from giving results over the phone to the patient. My guess is there may be a blip on the blood test that the doc wants to talk about in person with your DH to make a larger, more personal impact. I believe (and I'm just hanging an opinion here) that if it was VERY serious, the doc would not wait to share the info. As the others here indicated, if his cholesterol or something else is off, the doc may want to share the health risks and ideas for a diet plan to improve the circumstances. I am not of the opinion that docs have special appts to make more money; it would be terribly unethical; maybe I have been living in a fantasy land tho'! lol.
