Exterior Trim and Siding Color Help

We plan to repaint our trim and siding and I need help choosing something to go with our brick as we do not wait to paint that. We like the idea of having black accents.
Don't worry about the terrible landscaping. That will be changing soon. Thank you so much!

I would think about removing the shutters and beefing up the window trim. Maybe even highlight all the house trim by painting it white.

SW Greek Villa (trim?) and SW Tree Branch. I don't want my siding to be too dark and am afraid to not have enough contrast if one color is too light to go with Greek Villa for trim. With the windows and garage doors I would probably go with the same color for the fascia and gutters. I think white siding would look too stark in the gable ends. Something in the taupe family to bridge the dark trim/windows and the lighter brick would look nice. We plan to paint the exterior siding, trim, and garage door of our house soon and need help choosing a color scheme that works well with our brick and new black windows. I am open to painting or staining the brick to create a uniform look, but my husband is a hard no on touching the brick at all. As you can see, we're growing ivy on most of the front brick anyway. We initially thought white siding with a dark brown or charcoal for the trim and garage door would work well, but I'm worried the house will end up looking dated and busy. Should we go with a dark siding and even darker trim, or use the same color for siding, trim, & garage door? Too many choices. Help!

Looking at your pictures, on some the brick looks beige and on others it looks gray so I'm showing the beige/greige option but I also show another scheme in case the brick is gray.

In the beige option, I show a black garage door as well as a black fence (on the right).

I like the soft blue of the shutters. A soft, grayed turquioise would look great, with the brick, too Paint the door a few shades darker than the shutters. That blinding white is not a good look. .

I looked for direction in your Ideabooks, but no pictures. So, here are a couple color palettes. Your brick is neutral so pretty open for anything. Your roof doesn’t show that much but it does have to be considered. Your windows are not conducive to using shutters, so I would remove those and concentrate on porch area and landscaping. I will try to do a mock up for you to get idea of what you like aside from liking black accents. Accents come last once main elements are defined. Bbl

Using some dark trim such as SW Black Fox you could create this type look. I tried doing a mock up but I need a much bigger photo from further back to work with. Also, what are other color palettes in homes near you?

I think you could beef up the porch posts with a stone base and wrap the existing posts with cedar.

The strong contrast of Black Fox, stone, and cedar to beef up porch along with new cedar front door would elevate your home to next level.

@Flo, I am slightly new to Houzz, so I don't have much going on in my profile yet! I really love the black fox color for the trim and the idea of cedar and getting rid of the shutters. For the siding, I want a lighter color that matches the brick, so the house doesn't look to short/cut off. That color is the hardest for me!

@Lisedv I love house your siding color makes the house feel taller. The dark colored door, post, and garage door have much better curb appeal than my current situation!

Ffpalms, I definitely plan on removing the shutters, especially as they arent in great condition. Not sure how I feel about beefing up the trim as it feels more traditional than my house

Rachel: one other reason why the house looks taller is that in my visualization I've replaced the tall bushes along the house with a perennial flowerbed. The trim can be the same colour as the siding or a shade either darker or lighter. difficult to show on the computer. If you take down the shutters I would recommend that you beef-up the trim around the windows for contrast. What ever you decidefor the colour, keep in mind that because of outdoor lighting the painted colour will look lighter than your sample.
