Flooring transition needed in Mexico

Brighton West
last year

We have a slab on grade palapa (palm roof) house in Mexico. There’s white tile throughout, which helps make it really bright inside (we like the brightness, not necessarily the white tile.)

The issue is that we need to tear up some plumbing in the hallway (in the second photo on the left side) and we don’t have the same tile to repair with after the plumbing work.

So without retiling the entire house, I’m looking for a logical spot to stop the new surface and also trying to decide what would look good alongside the existing white tile.

Any recommendations for a new surface for the hall and a way to transition?

Muchas gracias!
