Silestone Quartz installed with 2 different colored slabs at seams!
Hi All,
I can use your help. We had this Cosentino Silestone Quartz installed and the color of one piece is totally different than the rest. I indicated the seams with arrows. The company we purchased from said this is just typical variation in natural stone and does not see the problem (quartz is man-made, part natural stone). This run of counter is 15.5 feet and we had to have a seam.
Do you all have similar issues with your quartz? Is this the expected color variation by a manufacture like Cosentino?
This is an expensive purchase and I am not satisfied if this is the expectation. Thanks for your help and thoughts.

Comments (9)At first I didn't think the seam was terrible but then I saw may flowers perfectly hidden seam, dang! The contractor could be telling the truth about the seam depending on the layout and what's available with the slab, but then again, it could be a line of bull in hopes you just forgot about it... Ether way your counter tops are beautiful,I hope they make it right for you. I freaked about my seam a little too when my kitchen was done but I hired a guy off CL and got a decent deal. I also had a tiny crack/hole in the sink area and I really freaked about that... A couple years later, that little crack/hole is still there and I don't even notice it or the seam... Comments (43)We have polished Organic White countertops. We also get subtle metal marks that won't come out. These counters are just a few months old. No one else would notice it, but I certainly do. I would recommend getting a sample of the quartz you are considering and testing it yourself. Maybe we're just unlucky? Although, the number of websites that say "quartz doesn't stain" seem to be equalled by the number of websites that say "here's how to get stains out of your quartz". We haven't tried Magic Eraser and it is somewhat discouraged since it is abrasive, but we may try that next....See MoreSilestone quartz counter price, what do you think?

I told our contractor today I was thinking I might get another quote. KitchenPlace, thank you also. It might get me if I have to go up to 3 slabs because I'll have to purchase it all of course but then I'll have extra to go up the wall behind the cooktop. Comments (61)wilson853, the delay was mainly because I wanted to wait until my husband was in town and could supervise. We didn't discover it until later, but they didn't leave a big enough gap for the stove, and they put silicone between one of the doors and the counter so the door wouldn't open. This time they sent different subcontractors and I was much happier....See More

last yearI had my galley style kitchen renovated a few years ago and chose Silestone quartz, color: soapstone. Both sides of my kitchen have seamless Silestone counters. My experienced kitchen designer only used certain experienced Silestone fabricators too. Both my counters match beautifully, no issues. I think It is the responsibility of the counter fabricators to make sure all counter slabs will match, prior to cutting them.
