Comments (7)Side note, there are two threads that I created by accident, this thread originally didn't show up so I created a new one but hours after later it appeared. Anyway... My contractor arranged all of this. He brought me samples and pictures and I picked the color. He purchased the slabs and installed plywood and another guy came to cut and install them. The flooring and counters were being installed the same day and since I have 4 kids I left so that we wouldn't be in the way. When I came back the counters were completed but it two different colors. In hindsight maybe I should have just stayed or asked more questions. Our contractor has been amazing and I guess I just trusted him since he has done such good work with everything else. Dh talked to him this morning and he's going to redo that wall....See Morequartz slabs don't match (?)
Comments (6)Hi Patricia, sorry for the double-post but they feel like two different questions. This thread: has anyone heard of slabs not matching because they were different sizes (jumbo vs. standard) or made a couple months apart? The other thread: can anyone share a photo of a island where the edge was cut from a different slab? (so the slabs match but the edge isn't from adjacent material). Since the backstory seems to be confusing the issue, I tried to edit the original post here, but Houzz won't let me. Sorry about the confusion....See MoreHow important is quartz from same lot?
Comments (4)I've read threads here at Houzz where quartz slabs really did vary quite a bit from lot to lot. Are there no new shipments coming in where you can get all brand new slabs? if the larger sink solves your problem and fits with your cabinetry, that's a great idea from @joseph_corlett. Otherwise, insist to see and compare all the slabs together before approving a mixed-lot grouping, even 36" apart. It's your home for a long time, and you're paying a bunch of money for those countertops. They should be right....See Morecherylbirth
