No. In addition to what Arcy said, you now have some objects that need to dry out and be cleaned between uses. Where do you store that? Looks like extra work to me.

I did do this to rinse/scrub off the kids’ toys and gardening equipment. It was much less work than using a hose.

I don't really harvest anything that needs rinsed before bringing it in the house. Plus, the water spigots I have outside are from a well that has what is considered non potable. It's fine for watering plants and washing vehicles but shouldn't be consumed.

I don't rinse anything until I use it to cook or eat raw. Things that are really dirty like onions and potatoes shouldn't be rinsed off. I have a bunch of potatoes under a kitchen towel right now drying out on my counter and onions drying outside on my little table on the porch. All of them will be put in the bin when they are still dirty.

I wouldn't buy it, in fact it's a useless product and a waste as I see it. The material and resources to make this kind of stuff usually exceeds any benefits used in the claims of conserving natural resources to peddle them, That specific product probably used 50 to 100 gallons of water to produce but low compared to the 3000 gallons it takes to make a smart phone.

A plastic water bottle takes twice the water it holds to make the bottle, I don't protest and burn down businesses or sabotage forestry machinery, I just won't buy bottled drinks. I would really like to see mandatory consumer disclosures of the water used to make a product.

Oh, and what Arcy said. I can't think of any produce I need to wash in the garden, and in fact I try to keep things dry until I use them.

This isn’t a product. It’s just a basket and a tote you might gave lying around anyway. But I agree it’s not a practical idea for all the reasons above. I responded a while back but my post has evaporated somehow.

You could also use an old wire basket and galvanized tub, from grandma’s garage or the rummage sale. You know, instead of throwing them in the trash.

Hmmm - I can see using that setup for washing or sanitizing other things, like bunches of plastic toys & play utensils - which I do at work. I soak Legos and use a colander to rinse them. I have an underbed storage box full of them, so it's a relatively big job. I regularly sanitize dominoes and blocks too.

P.S. Almost forgot to mention I keep my veggies well mulched with hay so they don't get soil on them.
