Rose rosette or fasciation?

On my grafted Rock n Roll rose from Weeks I spotted this strange, flattened new growth. Is this RRD? Fasciation? I am in Portland, Oregon and do not think there’s been cases of RRD yet.

Does not look like RRD to me, fasciation looks more like it.

Hey, PDX Robert! PDX Carol here. As far as we know (knock wood) there have not been any cases of RRD in our area. I have seen a lot of RRD in Dallas, TX, including at my parents’ house. I believe fasciation can occur along with anything that weakens a plant’s immune system, like RRD or other viruses or bacterial infections, but this flattened, thorny growth in itself does not scream RRD to me. Gene mutancy, pest attacks, and evil sorcery can cause fasciation, too, I believe. Just kidding on the last item, but honestly the reasearch kinda supports, ”Heck, once in a blue moon, anything can cause it!” I am attaching a TX A&M agriculture link below in case it’s interesting to you. I am not going to fully commit to saying there’s zero RRD in our area, but I am 100% operating as if there’s zero…while keeping my eyes open like you are.

PS Editing: I just caught that your rose is from Weeks. I do know there was a RRD issue at that company. I am feeling a bit more cautious and doing a little research…..
