Cooperbaily - I would buy a big plastic tarp to lay over the grass to lay the carpet on. I live in hot sunny California where it doesn't rain in the summer and my carpets did not take more than 2 days to dry - high 80' barely any humidity - one side one day the other side the next. Jewel1 - Hanging over a swing set may not be the best idea - the water in the carpet makes them heavy and they stretch - you may find you end up with a very misshapen carpet - the one thing the carpet cleaners emphasized was drying flat only - even then you can stretch it flipping it over and moving it around before dry.

Lola 99..we made a similar quilt as a 50th anniversay gift for my In Laws...We used Wonder Under to attach the hands and then did the fancy embroidery stitches around them...the Wonder Under held the handprints in place even after the quilt was cleaned....good luck..Val

I have wool challis curtains in the living room. They're about 4 years old and I haven't had to have them cleaned yet. Mind you, they are not cream, but a brown/black/orange/red print. I do hang them outside and beat all the dust out of them every spring. The curtains aren't lined, but the fabric has enough body so that lining isn't necessary. I like the look and texture. And they hold up well with cats in the house. As to the elegance of wool vs. silk, I think a lot would depend on the weave of the fabric. Some weaves just give a more informal vibe. Think of a heavy wool tweed suit vs. one made of a fine wool crepe. Same fiber; completely different look and feel.

Yeah you can do that, but I would recommend not putting it near a door if you do that. The breeze might twist it, or even pull it off the wall. I hung my tapestry straight just at the top, over my bedroom window. Looks good. Got mine through TapestrySite if anyone is interested. If you have a cat, keep well out of reach! My little rascal of a cat loves to get her claws dug in. Fallen off the window a couple of times now... I've had to keep her locked out of the room, which she is not happy about.
