Typo - The edges of the countertop and wall cabinet do not align on the wall.

Only tile the back and only tile under the upper cab - not to the edge of the counter. Finish the edge with Schluter.

Hi daisychain Zn3b , then there is closer to an inch space on the countertop without tile on the wall. (Pic attached). Is this how the end result is expected to be ?

Does the refrigerator go right against the counter?

You are also going to end up with a sliver of tile somewhere with this tile size and the space you have to tile. You may want to give that some thought.

Hi palimpsest, here is the whole pic of that section of the kitchen.
Reg. the tile , we almost finished the whole kitchen and this is the section left out. So we need to somehow work with this tile size. A different alignment or starting point works ? Like starting off with a 1/3 tile offset instead of 1/2?

The extra inch on the bottom is from the countertop overhang.

This is how it’s installed in the kitchen.
So in that case my question is can we leave this space without tiles? Does it look odd ? This space is kind of separated from the rest of the kitchen.

Reg the extra space, yes one difference is due to the countertop overhang. The additional 1” difference is due to the wall extending beyond the countertop.

I think you could leave it without tile. I think even with the offset you will end up with a sliver in altenating rows...you will have to draw it out to scale maybe.

We are facing another issue above cooktop. Please advice how to go about it. I see that we will have close to 3/4” left out after lining 3 full tiles, not sure how to move forward. What options do we have here ?

Run the tile 3" or so past the cabinet please. It looks silly initially, but perfect when the fridge is in place.
