Definitely no necklace. What is the embellishment on the neckline? I can't see even with zooming in. A drop earring to coordinate with that would be nice - I do like both #1 and #2.

It’s like a rhinestone clasp, hard to see I know. It is not detachable.

I love those Artful Home earrings. My MOG dress had a rhinestone detail at the waist - there's no way I wanted to accentuate my waist especially since I could wear one of my necklaces. It was only tacked on with a few stitches and I could easily remove it without leaving any marks. If yours could be removed I could see a vintage diamond ear clip or filigree pin.

V necks are flattering, and even more so when they are clean and uninterrupted.

Sue, are you familiar with Novica? They are an artisan-supporting commerce wing of National Geographic. I got nice statement gemstone statement earrings from this same jeweler for my daughter's wedding (mine are multi-colored) and they are very pretty. If you go with no necklace, you def could do a bigger statement earring with that dress. The artisans are world-wide so delivery does take time.

Agree with drop earrings, no necklace, something that coordinates somewhat with the piece on the dress and looks great with your hairstyle and face shape. I like #1 or something similar, but think you might have to try them to make sure.

A v-neck line flatters and the deeper the v, the more flattering. If you add a necklace the necklace become the v and the line visually stops there.

That is a lovely dress and I'm sure it is flattering on. I have recently lost 20 pounds and although I am happy to have a waist again, there is now rogue "crepey" ( or creepy) skin on my upper arms, so those sleeves would be a godsend to me. I agree with no necklace, but if you get some great earrings, you can also have a blingy bracelet.

I kind of missed your discussion of your dress choices, but what I see of the one on this post, I love! I agree, no necklace, just beautiful earrings that are a little sparkly, dangly, & simple-ish! I don't mind the pin on the dress, but if you did remove it, you could do pearl type earrings or pearl & sparkly!

I have been following this thread as I purchased this dress for my son's August wedding. I was going to wear a necklace until I read this thread. Now I will just do earrings as suggested.

The clasp would come off. It is just sewn on and I was going to remove it, but now just wearing earrings, I think I will leave it.

Shoes are my next dilemma. I have already sent 2 pairs back because they fit so terribly.

I could not find silver shoes I liked so I decided on navy, but then sent back 2 pairs.

One pair was from Macy's and they had none at the store, another was through A, and I loved those. I only had to walk around my dining room table to get red marks on my feet. I liked some of the shoes you posted. Maybe I will rethink silver.

I like the Naturalizers. They are cute and delicate but more importantly, Naturalizer doesn't normally sacrifice comfort!

Maybe I should think silver now with crystal earrings. I was going to wear a pearl necklace and earrings and ring and bracelet. The necklace was brought from Japan in WWII. My uncle carried it in his boot and gave it to my mother, who in turn gave it to me. But I see with the v-neck it wouldn't work well.

I have 2 pairs of navy on order,but I think the heel height on one might be too high, the other is a wedge so not high enough. Will think about silver..

For those of us who need wide width comfortable shoes for special occasions, I ordered silver sandals from this company.

The jewels at the neckline of the dress would compete with a necklace, and this is why you should not wear a necklace with this dress. If you want to wear a necklace, then you should remove the jewels from the dress.

Lars, yes if I wore a necklace I would have removed the jewels at the V, but I think I will not and just get some lovely earrings.

I am usually not a fan of clothing with any kind of ”bling” attached, but I like it on this dress and worry that if I removed it, (a) you’d be able to tell that something was removed and (b) the dress wouldn’t be as pretty.

Look at me saving money again…the necklace I posted above (which I still adore) is $1000.

I am not a bling on clothing fan either, but I do like the dress with the tiny bit of bling. Agree with not wearing a necklace with the V neck (ETA:) and the pretty sleeve/front overlay. I would wear a simple pair of earrings (diamond studs, or something that dangles but not too long - also depends on hairstyle) and a nice bracelet and a ring/wedding set. Less is more.

My first reaction, remove the bling and replace it with something larger...it seems too small to stand by itself, too much to be worn with a necklace.

But then again, at the last wedding I went to, I wore both a clip at the neckline and a necklace, but the necklace was a single diamond solitaire so unobtrusive and I had a lot of neckline to fill....I also kept the earrings tight...which I tend to do as I wear glasses and the glasses with lots of earring seems too much for my face.

I am a little bling-shy as well but I think your dress has just a hint of it and it is lovely.

No necklace with the neckline embellishment on the dress. I'd go for dangly earrings and maybe a bracelet.

Minor update. Bride wants me to wear the fuschia version. Not a problem and doesn’t impact my accessories!

All the wedding colors are going to be bright and I might look dreary in comparison in the fig color dress. (my words, not hers) Her mom’s dress is mostly blue with pinks and white. Sort of an abstract print.

When you were considering the black dress i loved theses earrings especially if you have an up do for the wedding, but now with the red it changes my opinion . inwill have to keep looking…..are you wearing hair up or down

Lyban.. i think your colors may be off? If you are using a laptop, a slight tilt sometimes corrects lighting/colors. Sue's first dress is "fig" a deep purple red color ... the one her DIL asked her to wear is Fuschia .. in the photo above it does look reddish but in prior photos, it was more fuschia.

Correct, it is bright pink/fuschia, def not red. My hair is currently a chin length bob, so it will be ”down.” Like this (with the help of a curling iron) only brown.

Ok funky thanks for correcting me. i did look on my old desktop and i see the fuschia color and it is lovely. i think the earring i posted would be lovely. and with that length hair it will be perfect.

I love the Orsini earrings with that dress in any color. The Artful Home earrings are fabulous too.... good thing you won't be wearing a dress that needs them!

I ordered a similar pair of Orsini earrings, see the threesome I posted earlier. I love the ones you posted, Lyban, but if I’m remembering correctly, they were longer than the ones I ordered and I think they’d be too long on my short neck. I am looking forward to earrings and shoes showing up and now that DD is home, I can model everything for her and get her votes.

Bride made appts for all of us to get hair and makeup done! I will tell the stylist to just make me look exactly like the blonde in the pic above. LOL might need to get there verrrry early.

Tina, I have looked on etsy, but I can look some more. And we do have some good gallery-type jewelry stores around. Annnnd we will be traveling around the time of my birthday this fall, which is always a good excuse to drag DH into stores.

I love the hoop earrings for a wedding more than the long sparkles. The longer ones seem a little too glam, cocktailish for MOB, esp with a short dress.

Now that you've posted the full dress, new color, and your intended hairstyle (love!), I much more like the hoop earrings you already own. I think your hair and that dress color will be fantastic, but the Orsini earrings might be trying too hard, imo. I think your DD will have some wonderful input for you!

I ended up getting the dress in the smaller size based on early reviews here, and it’s a bit shorter but still fits comfortably. And I found shoes I like! Just ordered them in a half size bigger and also same size but wide, as they’re a bit snug.

When I raise my arms to take the pic, the dress pouffs out a bit making me look wider, but in a normal stance, it’s more flattering!

And now I promise to never discuss my wedding outfit here again! Thanks for joining in on my obsession. I don’t think I put this much attention on my own wedding dress!

ETA please don't take this the wrong way as I have the same issue. I see hair oxidizes to a red. Not flattering with the pink of the dress. Be mindful of timing for your color before the wedding.

If this is still relevant, I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm delighted with your choice of dress – that color is absolutely beautiful! As for the necklace, I totally agree it's superfluous here, and those dangly earrings could be a perfect complement. The first option would be amazing for your image!
