Kitchenaid Downdraft with Separate Kitchenaid Slide In Range

caribbea
last year

Hello! i would appreciate greatly some advice from anyone who has installed the Kitchenaid 30” downdraft with their compatible 30” slide-in gas range.

How is there enough room for both when using a standard 24” counter? Won’t the range stick out way past the cabinets when the downdraft is installed behind it?

Kitchenaid shows both the downdraft and the range are compatible, yet the downdraft install manual only mentions use with cooktops, not ranges.

Not sure if it’s supposed to be installed on the side, not behind?? Or does this ”compatible” range have a cut out space in the back the downdraft fits into?

I’m not seeing any info anywhere and my contractor thought I purchased appliances that won’t work together.

I do not have any other options other than a slide-in range and a downdraft vent for this kitchen, so I thought I found the right solution with Kitchenaid. Help!
