Well, after 14 months I've finally got something to harvest
Comments (5)Millet, actually on that tree I just removed the uppermost layer of soil, top dressed with peat and then put some CHC's on top. Since it finally started producing some fruit I didn't want to risk the full re-potting at this time. On my other two trees (a Key Lime and the Meyer lemon that was losing healthy leaves) I did repot into the CHC's and they seem quite happy. Thanks for all your help....See MoreHelp! Comments (34)Brenda, it is nice when even family members are enablers, eh? LOL!! I actually keep telling my husband "There's this garden in Western NY that someday we have to go visit!" I would love to see your beautiful garden some day. The different areas you have planted and the variety is amazing. I've been lusting for some more photos from you. Would love to see what you have on file for your veggie garden from last year if you have any time to post some. Goodness! I finally cracked open the catalog for my local nursery who I really like to support. She's a true plantswoman who I so enjoy chatting with, etc. I just sent an email over to her with my "list" (is was a long one) of plants to put aside for me for pickup when they open. It's a terrible habit I have of giving her a list each year for pickup. But my birthday is always right around when she opens, so it's a birthday present, right?!?! Comments (8)I make zucchini caponata (zucchini cubes, fresh tomatoes, celery, bell peppers, onion, sliced black olives, capers, basil...), but eggplant is more common, and eat it with wedges of pita bread. It's one of my mid-summer garden delights! I like it for lunch (with pita bread and a wedge of good cheese), but it can also be served as an appetizer (crackers or small wedges of pita bread) or a side dish with fish. Caponata isn't "one" thing and there are many recipes using a long list of ingredients. -Grainlady...See MoreJust got a Houzz notification for something I didn't order...
Comments (24)I've ordered once from Houzz... apparently and thankfully I'm not getting these notifications or e-mails, unless they're automatically going to the "Promotions" folder on my Gmail account. Which I don't read. Oh, I've never gotten around to switching my Amazon account to my current e-mail address. I remember getting spam mail from something that said it was I-Tunes or Netflix or whatever it was about ten years ago... requesting money they said I owed... only those mails were going to an e-mail addy I never used with either of those services....See More
