caponata - now that I've got it, what do I do with it?

I bought a jar of Caponata at Trader Joe's. I have guests coming for dinner tonight (lasagna during the football game). Seems like the caponata would be a good appetizer, but I can't find out how to serve it. Toast points? Chips? Is it served chilled, warm or room temp? Is it pick-up food, or will I need to serve it on small plates? Is it too heavy to serve before lasagna?

(Are you asking "why did she buy something that she doesn't have a clue about?" The answer is because someone on the Cooking Forum said it was good. I was in a Trader Joe's 4 hours from home and I wanted to buy something!)

Thanks for any direction or serving suggestions!
