What greeted me today

I've got buds and scapes galore so I know there will be lots of blooms soon. Today some of them began to open:

It was cloudy and drizzly yesterday when I saw the buds begin to open so feared the worse on splotched blooms, but it wasn't too bad. Pretty good for a first of the season flowering too-triplets:

Roman Steel:



This was supposed to be Rudy, a red UF that I really like but have a hard time keeping alive. This is not red obviously, but is a yellow unregistered sibling known as Rudy's Sister. Same symmetrical blooms, same retention of color and same turgid unflinching petals. The color just shouts at me:

The last one I'll show is one I saw at the nursery and it spoke to me. I wish my camera could pick up the nice cantalope/orange base color. Between it and the dark maroon eye/edge it really stood out amongst all the other ones on display:
