Floor Stain - mixing English Chestnut and Ebony?

M Y
last year

Hello! Does anyone have pictures of Duraseal 50/50 Ebony and English Chestnut on red oak?

We are in the process of refinishing our red oak hardwood floors and are looking for a warm medium to dark brown color. our floor guy has put down many many stain samples (all Duraseal, waterpopped with water based finish) but we are having trouble getting to a final decision. We like 50/50 English Chestnut and Ebony as a sample, except that we worry it’s not quite dark enough for us. Has anyone used this combo on red oak floors that can share pictures? We tried doing 2pts Ebony/1pt English Chestnut to darken but it didn’t turn out well so that’s out. Our alternative choice is Jacobean, but we think that one is a bit too dark.

Thank you!
