Fantasy Lux Quartzite
We are finalizing kitchen slabs for our new buils and have found one that we like (Fantasy Lux, pictured below), but just like many others on these boards, I'm worried about getting a marble or dolomite that has been labeled quartzite. I know all of the ways to test the stone out, but of the 3 locations that we have seen Fantasy Lux, no one has had a sample available for us to take. It does have some very large crystalline pieces in it, so I do believe that at least part of it is natural quartzite, but I was wondering if anyone has had personal experience with this particular stone. All of the different stone yards giving their slabs different names is only leading to my confusion, so I'm hoping someone here might be able to help. Thank you!!

HELP!!! Fantasy brown quartzite or alaska white granite?
Comments (40)Alyssa987 - I had Dallas White on my list for a short time because it was a lighter granite but it wasn't one that I loved and swooned over. The granite yards near me don't seem to carry a lot of white granites, so I haven't been able to see ones like White River or Colonial White in person. I read about staining issues with Kashmir White so I immediately took it off my list. Comments (6)That's probably a porous quartzite; I'm betting that's a stain, not an etch. Google some soap stain poultices please. Have them come back, drill for a soap dispenser, install same, and keep those bottles off your top, because it's unlikely you'll seal your way out of this problem....See MoreMiseno cast iron sink or Elkay Luxe Quartz? Comments (7)Oh wow, we had your exact sink until 8 months ago! Isn't that middle basin the most useless thing ever?! However, it did convince me that cast iron is the way to go; nearly 40 years old and still cleaned up really well! Here is our new Kohler cast iron low divide sink with our new honed Taj Mahal quartzite. We're still under construction but I was very excited about our new stuff. :) I researched Blanco and Elkay sinks but the reviews about staining on light colors scared me off. I grew up in a 1920s farmhouse that had the original cast iron sinks that still looked good, so that combined with my 1980s cast iron pushed me that direction....See Morewe had this White Lux quartzite
