Seedling pics - a mauve, a coral and a tan...maybe?
Comments (9)ngraham - I don't have Always Afternoon, but judging by your pic, I'd like it very much. I think when people describe a flower as "muddy", I see a grayed, subdued, tone. I like the mauves and think they'd be very striking with chartreuse, blue, white or burgundy plants. Hey...why don't I do that? Chris - That mauve seedling has an impressive scape for a DIP. I will keep it for at least another year. I like the coral seedling because it is totally sunfast. I don't have many coral DL's...I'll have to work on that. Lainey - Mapping Carolina is gorgeous - thanks for posting that pic! See,,,even though tan is my least favorite, there will always be exceptions. connietn - I agree that some daylily descriptions are ... lacking. I promise, if I ever register a DL, the color description will be more detailed than "red with yellow throat". Debra - Thanks! The coral seedling is my favorite of the three. I was pleasantly surprised when it bloomed. So far, it looks like I'm on the same page as everyone else about these colors. I DID know what mauve meant - yeah for me! :-) Kathy...See MoreWhite/Gray kitchen countertops - Ceasarstone or Antolini quartz or ???
Comments (10)Thank you everyone. I did speak to a fabricator and he echoed the issues with Super White as not being a quartzite that has the durable properties that you look for in a quartzite (did not get into whether it really is one or not - moot point) so the lack of duribility takes that out of the running. So unless I get really lucky and find a couple - possibly 3 - slabs of a durable natural stone that will hold up to our type of use, I am back to manmade quartz. I am familiar with most brands and loads of information on this site but nothing on the Antolini brand. Anyone have anything to share about it?...See MoreWhite quartz counters look off-white & how to make kitchen look taller
Comments (15)Nic's,,the 4" piece should come off easy enough. you may tear the paper on the backsplash, which is ok if it's not too deep into the drywall. I guess if you were on scene you could have asked them not to install it. I mean, what difference is it to them whether or not it goes on the wall? to say it would be more money not to have one, is ridiculous. it takes more time to cut one and finish the edges! but, whatever. as for the design, it's a herringbone. and those I've shown you come on 12" sheets so you don't have to do the actual design (which is very difficult) the first one is calacatta marble in a 1x2 herringbone (also comes in a 1x4, which I like better). You can find this all over,,,even Houzz carries it. If you want the marble, then stick w/the Calacatta not the Carrara. carrara is a blue/white and will clash w/your counters. calacatta has a warmer tone to the stone. the 2nd on is a tumbled travertine which you can get here: https://www.pebbletileshop.com/products/Cream-Herringbone-Stone-Mosaic-Tile.html#.WhX_BLaZNT4 this will give you an idea of what it looks like installed (you can turn it longways as well) If you search "herringbone mosaic tile" you should get lots of ideas and places to buy them. this one is from Lowes, allen and roth. you could buy one and bring it home to see how it looks this is the basketweave this would also work. crackle glass by Merola tile. Olean Glass mosaic. I think Home Depot carries thesenothing wrong w/doing a little color. pale green, blue or gray would also work well. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Merola-Tile-Chester-Sage-3-in-x-12-in-Ceramic-Wall-Tile-1-sq-ft-pack-WNU32CSG/300341310 these would also look nice,,,they have them in different shades https://www.mercurymosaics.com/shapes/field-subway-tile/...See MoreBM Classic Gray with tan/brown floor tiles?
Comments (9)I don't understand. You want griege, which doesn't work w/the tiles (as you have encountered). You're choosing colors that have too much gray in them. What's wrong w/Loggia or Shiitake? I think either of those would be great w/your floor tile. similar to Balboa Mist, but has more of the yellow tones to it. Or, have you tried these? You have a dominant tile floor. if you don't want to match the tone of the tile, then choose a contrasting color. (blues/ greens, etc) But to try and force a certain color range to work in that spot is silly. However, here are some of those tones you like. maybe you can find one. if you lighten the grout in those tiles, you may find certain colors work better. Grout Renew...See Morecubby14
