May I have the envelope please

The first bloom award goes to........Burning Inheritance. I lost it during the glacial blast of the 2021 winter after many many years in my garden, but was able to replace it this spring. The plant came with a scape. Cut it off?? Not hardly. So it's kind of a cheater bloom, but I'll take it. We also have a cool spell going on today. 83 degrees, so the color is as vivid as it gets, although it is a daylily that is always on the cutting edge of being colorfast and sunfast regardless of temperature.

lovetoshop, I think these knobs and pulls could go with a lot of kitchen styles, but I think they go particularly well with Shaker style cabinets. My SIL chose the same ones and her kitchen was my inspiration for choosing them. Well, I was also inspired by the fact that they were one of the styles my cabinet maker offered as included with the cost of my cabinets! :)

My Frances Williams struggled for a couple of years in a spot that got afternoon sun. I moved it to a shady spot with some dappled afternoon sun and it loved it. I like the colour more in the shade too. It's very blue with a limey green edge. At the same time I had taken a small section off and planted it somewhere that got a little more sun. It's basically green with a yellow edge. It doesn't even look like the same hosta. I'd leave Frances in the shade if I were you.

Thank you everyone. Isn't that first bloom exciting?!! I had such a hard time replacing Burning Inheritance last year from a rust free source and I'm so happy I have blooms this year..............Our temperature relief was short lived. Back up to the 90's for the next few days.....Here's to everyone having an abundance of first blooms soon...................Maryl
