Comments (1)".is it normal to have to hold the shift lever in R to go in reverse " Yes, it is a safety feature. You say, "during normal driving is it necessary to have to hold lever?" The answer is yes in reverse. You answered the forward part. "All of the other gears lock in." Walt Conner...See MoreShifted into reverse, engine died, won't start
Comments (9)First, in EVERY REQUEST FOR HELP potential responders NEED TO KNOW the brand name of the tractor (and model number), and the brand name and model number of the engine. For transmission troubles, we would also need to know the type (including manufacturer and model designation.) THIS IS INFORMATION THAT EVERYONE LOOKING FOR HELP MUST INCLUDE IN THEIR REQUEST. Think about it - if you had a car problem, you wouldn't call a mechanic and say "I have a Chevrolet that won't start. What's wrong?" You KNOW that he would either simply tell you to have it towed in, or, if he was feeling generous, would ask a bunch of questions like: What KIND of Chevy? What engine? Automatic or standard? And so on. In your case, and without complete information, I suggest that you remove and thoroughly clean and reattach BOTH ends of BOTH battery cables. Test and charge your battery. A great many lawn tractor problems are caused by corroded and/or loose electrical connections, and defective or weak batteries. I hope I haven't sounded too harsh, but doggone it we've got to know whether we're dealing with an apple or an orange....See MoreRe- Gluing Book Bindings?
Comments (26)Nickel — I will try to post to KT and CF, but darn whenever I try to cross post, I can rarely locate the second forum link. I’ll try soon. Sherry, wow, you sound very enthusiastic. Buy USED, save $. A lot of thee books offer a lot of the same standard recipes. I sympathize w your DH — he might have only had the ho hum food served at one of the many not so good restaurants — the gold plastic, oil cloth placemat, the brown glop sauce, the bland white sauce. Some of it is way too oily, I decided many decades ago that I was going to learn to make my own — better and more affordable. Some of the older cookbooks or shows wanted us to star with some outrageous amounts of oil. I never go that route. I have limits in how much typing or voice typing I can do, and have to limited time to connect, but I might be able to give you ideas, tips or recipes for some dishes. The Chinese Cooking book above shows how to cut items, and how to make dumplings, noodles and rolls. And it has a glossary. I have so many cookbooks because I began cooking Chinese then later Thai and Vietnamese dishes before the internet and before the graphical user interface that we all rely on nowadays. There are many fantastic videos and blogs available to anyone with a tablet, smart phone or PC (Unless you live in counties where access is censored, constrained or limited). We can repair appliances, learn to canoe, sew, or cook. I just found a fecipe for Salt and Pepper Calamari that is like the Chinerse dish I am addicted to. YUM! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZXAVQFhen4 Not much need nowadays to spend $ on cookbooks. And even making noodles and roll are online at YT....See Moremtnrdredux_gw
