I'd paint it with a nod to the hallway but with it's own personality. My hallway to the small bathroom for guests is SW scalded milk which appears a soft white but the bathroom is going to be Valspar Betsy's linen, very white trim and Rainwashed by BM in the vanity area.

What do you think of this color combo with tile someone did back in 2008? How do you think it compares to the wood-on-wood look? I do like the look of wood floors (and definitely would prefer it if my cabinets were white), but I can't figure out if I "really" like it...Maybe I looked at too many photos and developed some kind of bias for something that everyone else seems to be doing. I *think* I like the photos with wood floors posted above, but do I really like it or am I unconsciously trying to conform to the trend of wood-floored kitchens? It doesn't help that a real estate broker recently told me that many of his customers seek out kitchens with wood flooring...

Rectangular and big enough to have at least all sofa front legs on it and all of the ottoman on it. You can even go a bit bigger and have all the sofas and ottoman on the rug. You can use blue tape to lay it out and see what size looks best.
