That wall needs curtains not art.

We would consider curtains I think....we actually tried roman shades on all the windows in here but disliked them and returned. We have beautiful views and no neighbors, so I know we wouldn’t use them...but maybe they would add something asethetically.

Part of my delimma with curtains or shades is where to stop? Here is a further shot, back when we first moved in so everything was a but sparse, but as you can see it is open to our dining room. We have sliding doors and more windows on the wall behind the table (parallel to the one in question). We ordered shades for all of the windows (8) but again it just felt off.

If you cannot find a larger piece of art you love, you could hang two the size of the one you now have, stacked. It's about the right size for that. If this were my room, I'd really try to bring in some color...it's very...beige. Curtains would be a nice addition, too, adding softness and maybe some color?

Stack two coordinated canvas pieces. I don't think you want art with glass as you already have an issue with glare on your current item.

Yes, in the dining room also though they don't have to be the same color. Your chandelier is hung too high in the dining room.

I would go with white curtain panels.

How do you think white with some bamboo roman shades would look? Maybe my issue with the roman shades we tried earlier was that we didnt add curtain panels. hmmm

Love the space- very serene! i always love bamboo shades and white linen panels (i actually get mine from ikea bc they are very long and then they can be hung quite high) and i think that approach will add softness and texture without busyness..

with all that natural light i would be tempted to bring in some large indoor palms/trees as well

If I had great views all I would want is something to block sun fade from floors and fabrics. Looks like you have a porch to help with that on at least one side. Lutron and others make nice ones that nearly retract out of sight by remote when not in use. They are pricey, but you might find a cheaper brand or do without the remote.

Thank you @decoenthusiaste we do have a wrap around porch in all of the areas shown. so you would leave the windows more minimal? No curtains? We’ve lived here almost a year and have never missed them (we did some curtains upstairs in some bedrooms), but this one wall is bugging me.

And yes, I promised myself I wouldn’t take these views for granted and I don’t!

My husband says no to curtains ”don’t cover up my views at all!”- but I do have an ace in my pocket if I decide to go that way- that darned TV lol!

I'm with your husband on not blocking the view, AND open curtains don't *have* to block a view *at all*.

Hang them so that they are literally framing the windows, so their inner edge is right in line with the outer edge of the windows. You never have to close them and the curtains will enhance the view rather than block or distract from it.

I didn't want to block the view of my birch tree from my dressing room window (I live in a city, so any bit of nature is vital.)

If you decide to do drapes, I would pick a shade that is closest to your your wall paint. One panel on each window. The fabric will add softness to the room.

No need to add shades right away. Live with the drapes first and then add, if you feel it is needed.

For the Dining Room, I would add drapes there also. Add drapes, the same color as the living room, but with a small pattern. The pattern would be just a slight color difference than the background of the drape color.
