@everdebz I still strongly dislike them. The cheap painters they hired also got paint on those. It stuck to them better than the cabinets hahaha. removing the 90's metal ring did help them.

If you have to clean paint and old grime off of a lot small metal pieces -- there's a trick that involves a crock pot.

I started to say "enjoyed reading your dilemma today" but that sounds all wrong, doesn't it? You are moving along and making small changes that have a real positive impact.

If you find the red stained glass in the door a bit jarring, you can cut small pieces of dark contact paper and cover the four red rectangles on the inside of the door. If you like the red glass, fine; they get answered with the red in the dining room.

You might also consider going to a white-when-the-light-is-turned-on lampshade in the living room. Here's a very economical one from Tar get ($22.). It would tie in with the white mantle and wainscoting in the room and give the lamp a different feel. Look for 'Empire Lamp Shade - Threshold'.

Also wanted to commend you for figuring out that you can remove the metal ring from the hanging lights over the kitchen counter. Doing that along with your use of the removable peel and stick to cover some of the wall tiles is giving a lighter feel to that area of the house.

Oh, THAT metal ring! at the rim of the glass. I thought you were talking about the base plate. Great idea!

It’s not so much the stain glass that bothers me is the red color of the door itself it doesn’t go with anything else in the house

The living room is looking cozy! Obviously the most important members of the family are completely happy in front of the fireplace! It’s all moving along well.

Wow removing the dark ring. The remaining typical bronze seems a vibe with fp ... guess that doesn't help. ;) but it is a 'cleaner' look.

RL. You’re TLC is making this place so cozy and l think the throwback room is fantastic and takes me back 😉. I moved your bird and added some decor to the mantle even though you didn’t ask 🤣😎. I think the FP needs more interesting stuff and I’ll bet you have some.

That looks nice c.j. my mother-in-law would love that spot that the fireplace and she would put something like a blue or turquoise Ball by that seagull cuz that was her favorite Beach color

It worked in your previous home that had a soaring ceiling but you may have to store it for your 'next' home since the ceiings in this house are not as high.

The ceilings in this room are just as tall as the last house, the pitch is at a different angle tho. The difference here is the wainscot, not allowing me to hang it lower.

I would never get rid of of this it was a gift from an artist out of LA that he painted in 1985 for a series he did. He gave it to me when he was moving...

My other option is putting it on my bedroom wall but... I'll post a picture. Ugggh

Try overlapping. (if it doesn't work, the painting might need a frame. you can build one super cheap with wood strips painted white.)

@Seajay Sparkles no, the shower has a window with a deep sill and its proving hard to line it all up. I just think painting that area would be simpler.

Long ago a "throwback room" had this sort of coloring -- I think it's pretty, esp. if sofa has no separate cushions.

@happyleg ill get a picture, it has one of the tub surrounds, and a small bathroom window that is inset about 6 inches so it makes it a small area with a window.
