Am I the only one who hates this?
Comments (96)While talking to a guy building a new home nestled among upscale houses in a nearby village, I told him that if you'd told homeowners of World War II variety that in modern days they've been taking wood chips, mixing them with glue, making them into sheets and using them to build walls of houses, they'd have laughed at you and said that no way would they consider paying their good money to buy a piece of crap built like that! It's not unusual to see buildings in Europe 300 - 500 years or more old. Have you ever seen such in our area? My shelf panels and shelves, made of sawdust and glue, have a piece of cardboard stapled to the back to keep the unit from falling over sideways. ole joyful...See MoreAM I THE ONLY ONE WHO HATES GRANITE?
Comments (55)What I am seeing from @colorblind1961 is zero ownership of her behavior, but instead is talking about "a wakeup call" for people on this forum. No wake up call for @colorblind1961? She has not acknowledged that she escalated the tone of this thread to become what it has. This is why I called her a troll earlier. Trolls cause escalation of anger in a thread, which they enjoy. Then they absolve themselves of everything, and blame everyone else. Textbook. Most of the people who have replied on this thread are extremely helpful to others posting questions on this forum. They will spend huge amounts of time helping people with their kitchens. @colorblind1961, you started by yelling in all caps, using the word "hate" a number of times, being non-nonsensically contradictory (you hate granite, you love granite), claiming in all caps that you are NOT inconsiderate, not answering any questions, claiming to be a longtime Gardenweb person yet not seeming to know anything about Gardenweb, and that your only goal is to hear from people who hate their granite countertops....See MoreAm I the only one who thinks this is cute??
Comments (46)Good score. I think they're very sweet. The only thing besides clothes that I ever bought at the thrift store was a lamp. I loved the large ceramic base and thought I'd get a new shade but grew to love the shade too and it's in my bedroom. Five dollars because it was 1/2 price on seniors day. I have three giant Norfolk pines that live in my basement greenhouse in the winter but all three do well outside in the shade. One my little granddaughter gave me for Xmas one year and it was six inches high and is now getting to six feet!!!...See MoreAm I the only one who doesn’t want a white kitchen??
Comments (37)You're not the only one. All white would "grind my gears". I'm not a compulsive "clean freak" but white would show every bit of dust/dirt ... and I live on a country dirt road off another private country dirt road. Weather permitting, I keep my windows open from early spring to late fall because I go outside too often to want to be changing temp from ambient temp to AC and back again. To me, that makes hot weather seem even more hot . If you are wanting to reuse your current cabinets, you might consider researching products that would darken your stained cabinets a bit to get rid of any "orange" vibe -- that would be my first choice. Is there a cabinet, upper and /or lower, that is installed apart from the others -- one from which you could remove the door(s) and see if it might be either stained darker or refinished? Or do you have cabinets above the refrigerator that could be removed and replaced with an open shelf if what you try doesn't result in something you like?...See More- 4 years agolast modified: 4 years agoorchidrain thanked littlebug zone 5 Missouri
