Your Covid testing experience
Comments (55)My dh and I were tested at the end of June. It took 2 full weeks to get the results. More recently, my dh has been tested every week for the past month. Those results have taken 3 days to receive. Same location, drive by testing in our local Walmart parking lot. They test 1 morning every week. Easy to register, only identifying data is name, dob and email address. No insurance information needed. I assume they are reimbursed by the feds. My MIL is 95 residing in assisted living. She is very mobile and social. Like others, the months have passed with no visitors at all. My dh has been pressing management for visitation rights. Finally they offered an 'essential caregiver' option. He filled out some paperwork and as long as he provides a negative test within 3 days, he can visit in her apartment for up to 3 hours a week. His sister does the same. It's been a blessing for his mom....See MoreI got both Covid vaccines. Then today I got a Covid test.
Comments (35)Arkansas Girl, weeks later? Do you remember where you heard that? When I experienced some fatigue four days after my second shot I looked up delayed reaction, and the only thing I found was a reference to four or five days, especially for those who reacted with a rash. In my case it would have been about two weeks, and then the reaction lasting over a week. That seems unlikely, but thanks for the thought. Debby, it started about two weeks after the second shot but it's still going on a week later....See MoreFree Covid test kits
Comments (26)I got very sick in the middle of December and ended up in the hospital for three days after New Years. My home Covid tests were negative, but I am not convinced that I did not have the virus. My hospitalization resulted from diarhhea, dehydration, a bad fall and painful UTI. I tested negative by that time with the more rigorous test in the hospital but it was almost 3 weeks after my original illness. So I did order the free tests from the government's website. From what I understand, if you test positive the results are reliable. We have a trip planned the last 2 weeks of February for a stay in Savannah and are hoping to spend most of our activities outdoors there but will take the test kits with us. Fingers crossed for a healthy and fun visit. It's 24° on Cape Cod this morning....See MoreLink to new batch of free Covid tests.
Comments (24)Thanks so much, Teeda. Just ordered ours. I’ve used our old ones a couple of times. One I wasnt sure was still good since the normal line was very faint. I used another about a week ago when I had a sinus thing going on and wanted to make sure it wasnt covid....See More- 4 years agolast modified: 4 years agoKathsgrdn thanked carolb_w_fl_coastal_9/10
