Comments (11)There would be enough space on that wall. My concerns were placing the sofa against the windows. Since the windows are very low (Down to about 1' to the ground), a 37" high sofa would block 2 feet of window height. Depending on how far into the room the sofa is, that would take 2' off of 2-4 windows. (The window location in the render is not 100% accurate, but if you look at the picture, it'll likely cover all 4 windows) In addition, those windows go to the backyard, which we would get afternoon & evening sun from. We were concerned about having a lot of glare from the sun if we put the TV opposite of the windows....See Moresectional couch or a couch and loveseat ?
Comments (8)OK, Priya - I have done two layouts. Your main problem is maintaining "walkways" through your space. Plus the TV being in the far corner is challenging for sure. These are two approaches for your review. We like to keep 3' passing/walkways through spaces, about 18" from front of sofa edge to a coffee table and at least 2' between chairs and other furniture such as sofas. The first layout puts the TV on a console along the long wall. this provides easy walk space and a chaise or bench in front of the fireplace provides additional seating to watch TV or sit by a fire. I couldn't read the tiny print too well on your drawing, but did the best I could to scale it to the main seating area. The Scale is 1/4"=1' or each little square is equal to one square foot. I put a sofa table behind the 84" x 44" comfy sofa and one or two lamps could sit on that sofa table. I didn't have a good idea of where that window is along that wall but it looks on the drawing like it is roughly across from the long wall. The coffee table is 44 x 22 which allows walking space from sofa around the space....See MoreNew furniture, two these chairs on one side and plain loveseat boring?
Comments (2)Hard to tell the details of the room to be able to comment. Is there more than one layout option? Assume the brown piece is the love seat? Just wondering if you are set on these particular chairs and rug with a dark couch, as I think it is going to feel dreary vs below for instance and don’t won’t be boring no matter how you set up. Accessorizing will make the difference. First idea with brown love seat and you can add floral cushions. Either chair with a wool/jute blend rug...See MoreHelp me design around my charcoal couch and love seat
Comments (86)This is all FB marketplace stuff! Even the sand dollar print and dining room table. It’s cherry wood, it wasn’t cheap, but definitely less than what I would have paid new. The trunk was my great grandfather’s. I can definitely move the starburst to the dining area. That makes a lot of sense. I also like the idea of framed family photos. It would be nice to display some of that. Someone mentioned the sheers. I think I need those for privacy. Although without the room being one big wide open space, maybe I don’t need that as much? Years ago we didn’t have sheers and when my neighbor across the street moved away, he mentioned that he could see right into my living room....See MorePaola
