cafe silgranit or stainless sink w/cream cabinets?
Comments (6)I asked a similar question on here a few days ago when I was torn between stainless and Silgranit, and the overwhelming consensus was to go with the Silgranit. Even locally, every kitchen related person we've talked to says nothing but wonderful things about Silgranit. Our granite guy says it's the most popular sink he's installing now and just went on and on about what good sinks they are. I'll try posting a link below to the thread that I posted the other day. It has a pic of a Cafe Brown sink with similar granite that your looking at. Hope that helps.:-) Here is a link that might be useful: Stainless or Silgranit sink thread...See MoreStainless Steel or Silgranit
Comments (19)Hello Everyone, Just bought our Silgranit Anthracite sink tonight! We got it at HD in Canada. The sink is called Homestyles by Blanco. I can't seem to find it anywhere online. Wondering if it was a Canadian HD special. It was $50.00 cheaper than the double bowl Vision 210. I really hope we like it. After reading the instructions for caring for the sink it kinda scares me. So how do you all care for yours? Just a little dish soap and water wash after doing a load of dishes???? Thanks in advance. This is surely my "splurge" as we are doing the whole kitchen for roughly $10,000. I figure it will be my own personal Christmas gift to myself!!! As I am usually the one standing in front of it several times a day!!...See MoreStainless steel kitchen sinks 2 questions
Comments (16)Another owner of a 50+ yo stainless sink. Prior to my occupancy, that sink raised a family of 6. In my hands it has seen paint and drywall dust. Looks like it was installed yesterday. I usually clean with paper towels and dish soap, because sinks are dirty and I clean with something disposable. I have used comet and liquid bleach for disinfection with no problems. I have a stainless sink in my current lab, not pretty, but completely unmarred, undented. I would never even consider using another material for my sink, pretty though it might be. Also a fan of the lab's offset drain. I believe the lab sink is 18 gauge and have no idea whether the home sink is 16 or 18....See MoreRuvati RVC2384 Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink and Stainless Steel Faucet
Comments (6)I have the Ruvati single bowl sink. Pros: It's big and holds a lot of dishes. It's sturdy and insulated well enough for me. I like the ledge for accessories. Cons: It has a flat bottom, so I chase food around the sink with the sprayer trying to get food particles down the drain. It has tight corners and hard to clean. The colander has wood, so I'm not sure how long that will last and it has large holes and is open on each end. That prevents you from using it for anything small, like straining spaghetti. I suppose you could use it for larger cut vegetables. I personally have it on the ledge and use it to set my liquid soap bottle, scrubbies and to hang my dishcloth to dry on the edge. I sometimes rinse my flatware and place in there prior to loading the dishwasher. I bought an after market, fine mesh colander that expands to fit the ledge and I store it in my cabinets. The grid for the bottom of the sink I thought was a good idea when I bought the sink. I hate it. The space between grids is too large to prevent anything from falling through. It gets food gunk on it, so I would be constantly scrubbing it and have to take it out to clean the sink. I don't use it anymore. If I could have a do-over, I would not purchase it again. You spend a lot of time at the sink, so allow enough in your budget to get a sink that will make using it less of a chore....See Morekrystalmoon2009
