Which shower material would be easiest to keep clean???
Comments (22)"So porcelain slabs?" I think so. "How's it different from Neolith or Dekton?" They aren't designed to be lightweight. These are designed for vertical applications. "So is it an issue if the walls aren't totally straight?" That's the great thing about solid panel walls as opposed to tile with grout. The walls are easily shimmed to flat, plumb, and square before the panels are installed....See MoreFaucet question-which is easiest to keep clean?
Comments (2)And one point that the plumber/designers rarely address -- have enough space to each side and behind the unit for you to be able to get your hand in for cleaning! I have the little brush for the 1/2" space behind the bathroom faucet, and even so, it's a real pain to keep that area clean. I prefer the looks of chrome. I clean with 50/50 vinegar which prevents the build-up of hardwater/calcium deposits. Using an alcohol/water solution is also sanitary and leaves a lovely shine, but I don't think it does quite as well to prevent the scum. I also prefer the single-handle units as being easier to use and to clean, but not the ones with the cute "glass" knob-handle -- which is usually plastic, not glass, and seem to eventually get scum underneath (which will mildew and look awful). Voice of experience speaking there! I suspect it doesn't really matter what material or type you get as long as you swish it at least once a day to keep it clean, so get what appeals most to you....See MoreCleaning around bathroom fixtures
Comments (11)I have had to find special tools to aid in cleaning from a chair, and I found this great tool just for the bathroom. It has a nice heavy duty metal extendable pole and on the end you can attach various cleaning pads and scrubbers. The best one has a point on one end, there's a swivel joint where the cleaning part attaches to the pole that makes it swivel around the toilet easily and works great for the shower also. The one I have and use the most has a scrubber surface on a sponge type pad. The extendable feature is great since I can't get as close as I once could. I will see if I can find it and post a link....See MoreWhich is the best finish for the bathroom to keep clean?
Comments (6)I got Chrome in one bathroom and brushed stainless in the other. I love Chrome. Easy to just wipe it down whenever I see spots. Doesn't take that long. I used the turtle wax and so the water doesn't hang on it. The brushed stainless looks horrible though. I would never use that....See More- 2 years ago
